Kid's Camp is from 9am-11am for players ages 7-15. Cost is $20 to participate and also includes an event t-shirt and a hotdog and a water. Bring your glove!!! Registration is open! Forms will be available in the Evart Middle School office. The Home Run Derby will begin at noon! Contact your favorite Varsity player to purchase a baseball. Environmental Art Camp (VSA Tennessee partnership) - Gallatin, TN
Environmental Art Camp is a program created specifically for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13 who are interested in the environment and have a love of art. The camp will be under the direction of VSA Tennessee teaching artist, Dee Kimbrell. During the camp, the young people will learn about environmental issues and their effect on our national parks. Participants will create their own tunnel books that reflect ecosystems within the parks. They will also create a larger tunnel book specific to the Smoky Mountain National Park. This book will be given to the park as a 100th anniversary gift at Tremont in October. The book will remain on site as an educational tool. The sun is shining, the buds are blooming, and NY parks need to be cleaned! Come to the LAST teen event for this school year for NY Cares Spring Day. We'll meet at 8AM in Manhattan and then travel to a park to help get them ready for spring with thousands of other people around the City. Last year we planted a garden on top of the Staten Island Ferry Building. Did I mention that you get a free t-shirt and this is your LAST chance to recieve community service with us for the school year?. Southwest Basketball - Southwest Basketball
Southwest Basketball, conduct basketall camps, leagues, tournaments and basketball personl training for childern ages 6 to 18 male and female. Our camps normally last a week,(Monday through Friday). A day at the camp usually last for 3 hours. We teach all the basic fundamentals of basketball. The last hour of the camp is reserved for games and general fitiness. YOUTH LEAGUES The players get 10 games. There is a tournament at the end of the season. The players practice once a week and play once a week, an hour for practice and the games usually last about an hour. This year, The Drama Club will be putting on a production of Maurice Sendak and Carole Kings REALLY ROSIE. It follows a typical summer day in the life of the Nutshell Kids, a group of neighborhood friends, including Pierre, Alligator, Johnny, Chef Jeff from the Nutshell Library books, and Rosie and Kathy from The Sign on Rosies Door. Rosie — the self-proclaimed sassiest kid on her block of Brooklyns Avenue P and based on a girl Sendak knew as a child growing up in Brooklyn — entertains everyone by directing and starring in an Oscar-winning movie based on the exciting, dramatic, funny (and slightly exaggerated) story of her life.
