Maple sugaring: February and March are sugaring season in Connecticut! The sap flows strongly on sunny mornings when it is just above freezing. Hopefully we will catch a sap run and taste some sap right from the tree! We will check out the Sugar Shack and see where the sap is boiled into syrup, make and eat some maple treats, and explore the forest for signs of spring. ********************************************************** Who: these classes are for children of all ages with a parent or caregiver (no drop-off option available for winter classes). Program fee: $15 for the first child ages 3 and up, $10 for each additional child (ages 3 and up). The sibling discount will be applied automatically when you register online. No charge for children ages 2 and under. Location: Common Ground, 358 Springside Ave, New Haven, CT 06515. Star Wars Character Drawing - Valle Verde Elementary
Instructor: Village Center for the Arts () Room: A-2 Learn to draw all your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away. Create your own Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda and more, even X-Wings and Tie Fighters! Each class focuses on one or two characters, starting with basic shapes and stick figures, and working our way up to a complete, colored drawing each week. Students learn to build character structure, outlines, as well as shading techniques and detailing with pencil and ink. Lab fee includes class materials. (9 sessions) 415-314-1749

Bill DiNardo will be the head coach for our Football program. Bill is the head varsity football coach at Salesianum School and will run our quarter-backs and receivers Camp. Bill has won multiple state championships for both Middletown and Salesianum schools. Coach Bill is also the Dean of Students at Salesianum. ---------- LOCATION: Sanford School. Please drop your child off at the Sports Center at 8:45 a.m. Pick up will be in the same location at 3:15. ---------- WHAT TO BRING: Light-weight, loose fitting shirts, shorts, socks and sneakers. Water Bottle Bathing suit and towel for free swim in the afternoon. Lunch, unless purchasing from Camp. ($35.00/per week) A drink will be provided for all by the Camp. We also offer a specialized self-contained summer camp program for four year olds. Campers will be under the supervision of our certified Lower School teachers. Activities include arts and crafts, music and movement, outdoor fun, and story time. Children that wish to participate in our four-year-old program must turn four years of age before June 10, and be potty trained. Children need to bring lunch and a change of clothes. Campers enjoy the use of St. Johns 26-acre campus, including its outdoor athletic fields and play equipment, shower and locker facilities, fine arts resources, 25-yard swimming pool, computer labs, and air-conditioned gymnasiums. All campers through grade 4 have swim lessons. Standard guidelines are used to establish swimming levels, and parents receive a report at the end of each two-week session.
