Nurture In Nature is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization whos mission is to enrich and empower the lives of children and adults with disabilities by connecting them to nature. We are excited to partner with Camp Tuolumne Trails this summer and offer sponsorship for 20-30 children between the ages of 5-13 years to attend camp. We believe in creating an environment conducive for healthy, natural exploration of the outdoors, therefore we sponsor a support person to attend camp with our campers. Support personnel can be a parent, caretaker, or sibling familiar to the camper to help ease the transition to the outdoors. Our services focus on children residing in Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Mariposa and San Joaquin counties. If you are interested in having your child participate in our program please contact Jeanah Nomelli at 209-606-9712 or to further discuss your childs needs to ensure eligibility for the upcoming free of cost 2016 summer program , set for July 10-13. We will fill spots on a first come first serve basis for 30 campers. This is the first camp ever offered by Club SciKidz! Newly revised and more exciting than ever, campers learn the science behind Hollywoods special effects. Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and model building. One of the great features of this camp is that all campers will create (and take home!) a movie using techniques in Claymation and Stop-Motion Animation. Lessons include plot development, story boarding, set building, filming, and sound effects. Campers will also learn various special effects make-up techniques working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists. They will simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood, and old age. Is there a future movie director living in your house? This is a camp your child wont want to miss! Film Makers Challenge Workshop - S1 - Plymouth Community Arts Council
For students with previous film making experience. Take your film making to the next level with a series of fun challenges that will stretch your imagination. On site props and indoor/outdoor settings offer students a chance to show their stuff and work together in pairs, in teams, and as individuals to come up with creative solutions to the days challenge. PCAC Film Crew Instructor Jenn Teed and production assistants will start off each day with a technique demo and then guide film makers as they come up with unique digital films.
