LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Learn to Ride a Bike - Bear Creek Park
This is one of the most exciting camps because kids experience the joy of pedaling independently for the first time! This half day camp is perfect for the younger child who is still on training wheels or going from push bike to pedal bike. Our goal is to get them riding their own bike on two wheels by the end of the week using specific techniques, patience, and fun. You can come with training wheels on their bike if that is what they are used to riding. Or, if they are going from a push bike to a pedal bike, just make sure they have a bike that fits - no training wheels need to be added. We will work toward removing all training wheels as the week progresses. Please bring a helmet, 2 snacks, a water bottle, rain gear and closed toe shoes. You are welcome to bring a sack or picnic lunch and stay at the park after camp has ended. Parents need not be present during camp (and sometimes it is better if you are not there!) 7193553573.0

Loving Care "Kids for Kids" Campaign 5K &1 Mile Fun Run - Ottawa, OH
Come join the fun! It's a great way to be part of teaching children the importance of helping others while getting some exercise! This year’s event will be focused on helping others. Barrett Lammers, a preschool student here at Loving Care, was born with polycystic kidney disease. He had been doing well managing with this until a few months ago when an abnormal growth was found between his liver and pancreas called a choledochal cyst. This required him to have an extensive surgery and rehabilitation this spring. His prognosis is positive, however, he will need to have continued close monitoring throughout his entire life. We are planning a 5K Run, 1 Mile Fun Run and Diaper Dash with all proceeds from this event being donated to Barrett’s family to assist with medical expenses.

Magical Gardens Gardens are a major part of what makes the Hermitage so special. During this week of camp we will celebrate various gardens as we take your young artist out into the beautiful Rose Garden, Sunken Garden, and Rain Gardens at the Hermitage. Campers will do observational drawings, landscape paintings and create their very own ‘magical garden. Through nature walks they will discover garden sculptures and learn about patterns in the natural world. This year campers will also have a special opportunity to contribute to the Hermitages very own vegetable garden! Allow your artist to discover magic in the Hermitage Gardens! This Camp is a 5 (Five) Day Buckaroo Day Camp. Camp begins each day at 9:00 EST and ends at 4:00 pm in the afternoon. The Wednesday Night Overnight stay is offered only as an option, and has an additional charge. Campers are not required to select this option. Campers will be assigned a horse to ride and care for. In the larger enrollment classes, campers share assigned horses. Activities that the campers will be involved with are... Riding Lessons (generally twice a day, weather permitting) Grooming, Stall Care & Management, Equine Characteristics, Arts and Crafts, Horse Health and Welfare and Swimming Pool fun at the end of each day. Plus, making friends or renewing previous relationships with new and returning campers alike. Campers have the option to purchase and challenge the test for a CHA riding level.
