Session 1: Aug 8-12 * 7th-9th Grades - Icicle Creek Center for the Arts
7th-9th Grade film campers in are in for a fun and exciting hands-on introduction to the media arts in a beautiful natural setting. Start the week filming around the natural beauty of the Icicle Creek Campus, followed by two days of editing and post production. From concept to final cut, young filmmakers will experience each step of the creative process and experiment with new technologies. Campers will learn how to conduct a meaningful interview, handle a camera, set up a shot, record audio, and even shoot aerials from a drone. And once the footage is all gathered, of course, it all has to be organized and edited. By the end of the week, campers will have planned, shot and edited their own movie and well cap it all off with a family screening complete with popcorn! 2016 Speed of Play ( INDIVIDUAL WEEK ): Leadership through Fitness NSC - Blaine - National Sports Center
Individual Week / Add on Registration Here (2016 AKA SOP SCHEDULE BELOW) AKASPORTs Speed of Play: Leadership through Fitness Program, is led by AKA Director, Chris Schulz and the AKA professional training Staff. Participants enrolled in the AKA Speed of Play (SOP program), in partnership with the AKA All Sports Camp (ages 6-12), will offer adolescents an opportunity to be active, train and play in an All Sports setting geared to teach them leadership qualities with personal mentorship opportunities. The base of the Speed of Play program is from 9:00am-4:00pm and the doors are open for all Speed of Play participants from 7:00am-6:00pm, the same hours of the AKA All Sports Camp so you can take advantage of supervised activity time the entire day. This is the first opportunity for you to make an impression on the coaches at Tennessee State University. The Mind Thats Mine - 5th-6th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Timko How does your brain learn best? Through the course of a week students will explore this question using the latest brain research. Students will discover how learning impacts their own attention, language, memory, higher order cognition and social cognition. Simulations, hands on activities, group discussions, brain scans, and video clips will be the focus of instruction. Dance Camp - Twin Lakes Church
Enjoy a week full of poppin, lockin and more of the latest hip hop, contemporary and jazz moves. Learn new skills and put on a performance at the end of the week! Campers get to practice dance in a whole new light from an experienced dancer and instructor who has been teaching our dance camps and dancing locally and in the Bay Area for years!
