Musical improv may seem daunting. Well, imagine your very first few rounds of Hot Spot or Freeze Tag. Did you not die and it got easier? You eventually discover the timing and structure of new forms, which allows you to be more present, creative, and/or funny on stage. Once you learn the simplicity behind improvising a catchy pop song, you may even start to embrace that one team member who loves to break into song at some point every single show. This song workshop will bring you through main aspects of pop sensibility (Memorable Choruses, Supportive Verses, Bridges & Structure). Three weeks culminate in an improvised musical experience that has never been done before and will never be done again - save for your audience members humming your tunes on the way out of the theatre Sessions are led by Eric Schackne, iOwests Music Director and house accompanist. Eric has a breadth of experience spanning teaching/performing/studying improv comedy and songwriting/composing/producing, which provides him a progressive approach to the musical improv niche. Outdoor Youth Day - West Palm Beach, FL
(FSCA) Florida Sportsmen's Conservation Association 16th Annual Outdoor Youth Day Our Annual event is scheduled for February 6,2016 at the Everglades Youth Camp in J W Corbett WMA. We are expecting over 1,500 children of all ages to come and enjoy various activities. In an effort to reduce the increasing decline of our children's interest in the outdoors, FSCA has created an Outdoor Youth Day. Outdoor Youth Day is a Program specifically designed to educate children to many different recreational activities available in our natural areas but munch more importantly have some fun outdoors. This is the 16th Annual Outdoor Youth Day event and It’s FSCA biggest day of the year. Youth Day has buggy rides, canoeing, pony rides, airboat rides and displayed, archery, gun range instruction, fishing and wildlife shows to reach kids of all ages and show them the benefits of being outdoors instead of in front of a TV. Last years annual event had over 1,200 participants that came and over 150 volunteers that worked the whole day. Please call Caroll at 561 795-1375 for more information.

Youth Summer Camp - Hampden Sydney, VA
The HST Summer Youth Camp will run for 4 days from 9 AM – 12 PM. The camp focus is on baseball instruction and drills to improve the skill. The camp will begin with an introduction of the fundamentals of baseball. Each day will begin with throwing and catching drills. The session will be followed by position training. Each player will learn about each position on the field. Each day there will also be a specialty skill learned. These skills will be base running, sliding, and bunting. Each day ends with games. Period 4 - Woodworking - NBJH Room 116
Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game. The Saturday Practice & Play Program is an on the course class. This class is 9 weeks. It is designed to gain course management skills and a great way to get out and play every week. Participants must be able to play 9 holes independently and in timely fashion. 916-808-2283
