The Club will feature organized activities as well as time for participants to engage in activities based on their own interests. Sports include soccer, basketball, hockey, and others. In addition, there will be games and non-competitive activities designed for everyones enjoyment. Special events and surprises will heighten the event. Sports Camp week 5- Basketball (ages 5-12) - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of basketball camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport including dribbling, passing (chest passes, bounce passes, and overhead passes), shooting (jump shots and full shots), and man to man defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of basketball camp will focus on the basic rules such as traveling, double dribble, charging and blocking, as well as the duties of each position. Additionally modified games of basketball and cooperative games such as knock out, PIG, around the world and 21 will be played during the last hour. As the skills of each child advances, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations and a mini tournament based upon age group. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! Our mission is to provide a safe, peaceful and harmonious environment where campers can spend time with their friends while creating new ones. Summer Rec Camp consists of six weekly programs that run Monday to Friday (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). The Full Time program has a field trip every Tuesday and Thursday. Lunch, snacks and drinks must be provided by the parents/guardians. Outdoor activities and field trips are subject to the weather. Rain dates have been planned for appropriate trips. A camp tee shirt will be provided and must be worn on all field trips as well as to the beach. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All fees must be paid prior to the first day of camp. Cancellation of any weeks must be done two full weeks in advance, in writing, in order to be considered for a refund. Please, do not send food that contains peanut butter. We can have campers who are severely allergic so this will need to be monitored. Campers must be signed in when dropped off at 8:00 am and signed out when picked up at 4:00 pm. Climbing Camp - Advanced - Breckenridge Recreation Center
So youve been through our Beginner and Intermediate Climbing Camps and you still cant get enough? Then this camp is for you! We spend the first two days on the climbing wall learning some new skills and refreshing others from 8:00am-12:00pm. On Thursday and Friday, we depart Summit County for Independence Pass and Monitor Rock in beautiful Lake County for full days of climbing. On Thursday and Friday, campers depart Breckenridge at 8:00am and return to the Recreation Center at 4:00pm. All participants are responsible for lunch each day and are required to have a backpack, sunscreen, plenty of water (2L or more), rain gear and extra layers. No camp on Wednesdays. Four-day camps are offered in two sessions running June 20-July 29. To register for this program, participants must have attended an Intermediate Climbing Camp within the past 3 years or must receive approval from a Climbing Wall Instructor or the Outdoor Programs Coordinator.
