Accent is a summer music day program designed to review music concepts learned during the school year. This action-packed week includes musical games, activities, singing and dance. Rising grades 4-6 also participate in small instrumental ensembles. The week concludes with a concert presenting pieces the students have worked on throughout the week. I went to Big Lake Youth Camp when I was younger and I always remembered it being the best part of my summer vacation. Now I send my son and he says the same thing. The counselors are super friendly and always helpful to my son. He has made so many new friendships that he’ll keep for many years. Professional Scene Study (Sp16JUN) - Aquila Morong Studio
This class is an "actors gymnasium," where you will be asked to follow direction, learn what directors look for on set, and get invaluable feedback on your work. Donna Morong, noted Casting Director and Acting Teacher, will provide feedback alongside a guest director as you are filmed performing scenes from film and TV. Students will learn how to work on-set under pressure in a simulated professional environment. Previous directors include: Randall Zisk (Scandal, The Mentalist, Monk), Gary Fleder (Homefront), Damon Santostefano (Three To Tango), Will Geiger (Elvis and Anabelle), Brett Simon (Assassination of a High School President), and Anna Mastro (Guidance,Walter). "I encourage my students to take risks, explore different choices and delve more deeply into the characters they are portraying. I provide an environment that is close to a professional work situation without the pressure of having to prove anything. I hope to develop their own internal sense of emotional truth as it applies to film, theater and television roles. CAMP DETAILS Star Wars Camp Go far, far away in this camp, as the Jedi and the Sith explore epic encounters in the universe. Campers will use their lightsabers and the force on their adventures as they travel and fight their way through the galaxy. We will use themes from the stories and adapt them to create our own galaxy and experiences as an ensemble. 773-944-9146
Scientists Explorers - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Alabama
Scientist Explorers will engage in activities real scientists use to explore marine life and the ocean including research, microscopes, animal behaviors and anatomy. A field trip to the Alabama Marine Resources in Gulf Shores will take place on Thursday to tour the facility, which contains a fish hatchery with marine biologists. We will meet scientists there and learn about their work in protecting marine resources. 251-802-8605
10th 2016 Camp Buckaroo WINTER BREAK 3 Day Camp - Blue Point Stables
This Camp is a 3 (Three) Day Buckaroo Winter Break Day Camp. Camp begins each day at 9:00 EST and ends at 4:00 pm in the afternoon. Campers will be assigned a horse to ride and to care for. In the larger enrollment classes, campers share assigned horses. Activities that the campers will be involved with are... Riding Lessons (generally twice a day, weather permitting) Grooming, Stall Care & Management, Equine Characteristics, Arts and Crafts and Horse Husbandry including some Horse Health and Welfare. Plus, making friends or renewing relationships with new and returning campers alike. Campers have the option to purchase and challenge the test for a CHA riding level. Campers receive the appropriate CHA Riding Level Book. Successful campers are awarded the appropriate Certificate, Patch and Pin. Campers falling below the testing standards are allowed to retest once for no additional charge. Day campers will need to bring appropriate clothing for each day, to include layered warm clothing + GLOVES on cold days and rain gear when needed, as well as, their lunches, snacks and drinks for each day.
