Maker Station-Fine Arts - Amador Elementary School
MAKER STATION Come build with us this summer! Your child will be working with a variety of materials in a STEAM maker station. Students will create their own science or art projects. They will also deconstruct items and study reverse engineering to examine how things work. Our station includes beginning snap circuits, Brackitz bionic blocks, and an introduction to coding when we build mazes for our very own Bee-Bot robot. As an added bonus in the station, we also have GoldieBlox kits to encourage more girls to get excited about building. The Maker Station encourages creativity, exploration, and innovation. My name is Amanda Wilt. I will be the martial arts instructor for the YSCP Extended Day Program. I am a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I am both a teacher and a student of TKD. As most of us know, learning is something that is year round and a never ending practice. I would like to tell you a little about myself, so you may know me better. I received my B.S. degree in Special Education at Bloomsburg University (K-12). After college I taught through the CIU #10 and was placed in classrooms throughout the districts. I taught in Philipsburg-Osceola, Park Forest Middle School, and State College H.S. (9th/10th grades). Although I loved teaching, I made the difficult decision to stay home and homeschool my children when they arrived. I began my martial arts training at the age of 14 and started my children at Youngs Tae Kwon Do School in Bellefonte, PA when they were elementary age. They both attained the rank of black belt before they left to continue their studies in college. I was also an assistant coach for the Bellefonte H.S. swim team for 4 years. Camp Anthony Wk#1 - May 31, 2016 - Anthony Recreation Center
Week #1 Lavender Mountain This is the start of a summer filled with Friends, Fun, and Exciting field trips. This first week is a hike up Lavender Mountain. We will swing on the rope swing, climb the tower, and pretend to be logs and roll down the grassy hill. There is nothing like a picnic on the top of Lavender Mountain. New games will be played inside and out at the Anthony Center. The Federal Food Pogram will start today and run till July 22nd. Afternoon snack will be provided. We will be swimming once a week, so you need to have a swim bag ready to go with your swimsuit, sun screen, towel and (flip flops for the time we are at the pool).
