LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Rising Stars: Musical Theater - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp will provide students with a wonderful treasure chest of the theatre world: performing onstage, singing for musical theatre, and introduction to the backstage support. Campers will learn stage performance through: theatre exercises, improvisation, scene readings, stage movement and auditioning. They will have voice lessons that will emphasize vocal technique, vocal placement and production, breathing, and interpreting songs. All of the above will be combined into a performance to be presented to family and friends on the last day of camp. INSTRUCTOR LINDA WELLS is a private vocal teacher/coach, working primarily with children and teens. She has appeared in many musical theatre productions locally and elsewhere including The Music Man, Sweeney Todd, The Sound of Music, 1776, The Most Happy Fella, Side by Side by Sondheim, Brigadoon, George M!, Fiorello!, Guys and Dolls, and Godspell. Linda is also a professional church soloist and pianist. She was the Childrens Vocal Coach for The Little Theatre of Alexandria (LTA)s Scrooge: The Musical, and the Musical Director for LTAs A Christmas Carol (seven times) and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (twice); for Aldersgate Church Community Theatres Mulan, Jr.; and for Mount Vernon Community Childrens Theatres Narnia. Please help us with our 1st Jamison Hook Allstate Coats-4-Kids drive. We are excited to participate in this event with KXLY who have been keeping area kids warm for the last 30 years! With winter around the corner we need to insure the children of our community are taken care of! We will be announcing the winner of the competition as well as kicking off Brett's camping time 10 minutes per coat donated! Lets keep Brett cold!

3D printers have incredible uses, from building tools as-needed on the International Space Station to creating personal custom toys and jewelry. We have 3D printers in our new innovation BIG Lab! Well be using them all week creating toys and trinkets. Is your child looking for the perfect desk organizer? Or, do those model kits your child buys at the store not perfectly match his/her vision for the Dungeons and Dragons character they wish to create? Now is the time to design it and 3D print it! Students will be learning how to use 3D design software, setting up the 3D printer, and then executing their vision. 206-957-1533
