Campers aged 5-6 have fun creating with their peers in age appropriate classes inspired by a current textile related exhibition in New York. Campers will try their hand at printing, felting, sewing, weaving, and dyeing with both natural + synthetic dyes, creating finished projects every week. Every day, campers venture on a field trip to the Textile Arts Center Manhattan to print, dye, sew, and on Weaving Wednesdays, campers work on looms to create their very own contemporary fabric. This camp has a rich tradition of over 99 years. My 10 year old son would not miss registering for this camp. He loves the location, which is by the water. He also enjoys the focus on developing athleticism, leadership and problem solving skills. Our son can’t say enough positive things about the camp counselors, teachers and coaches. So the kids are off from school today...Bring them to Kayla's Creative Art Studio for an fun, artful, educational experience! Our dedicated Instructors have designed Kids Mini-Camps for all the days that the kids are off from school between now and the New Year. Students will experiment with different mediums to create a new masterpiece each day! Students are welcome to bring a peanut-free snack and drink. If your child is staying for the full day, please pack a lunch and drink for them. Art instruction begins at the designated start time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if less than 4 children are registered. No refunds or credits if parent/guardian cancels within 10 days of the start date or for missed classes.

This year SSKMC will have a presence at the Old Tyme Farm Days! Some of our wonderful teachers will be holding workshops throughout the event. This is a two day, family friendly event in our favorite place, Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park! Old Tyme Farm Days began in 1989, celebrating rural American life and heritage, farming activities, old time gospel sing, demonstrations, food vendors, children's activities, music, mule cart rides, gas and steam engines, demonstrations of the way things were done in the old days and much more. *We will be holding workshops on Friday and Saturday with a performance Saturday evening.* Workshop times will be posted soon.
2016 Teen Safe Driving Camp - Forsyth, GA
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, will be holding the 9th annual Safe Driving Camp for ages 15-17. The one day camp will teach new drivers about the consequences of distracted driving, the dangers of driving impaired, tips for defensive driving, skid recovery techniques, safety at railroad crossings, and demonstrate important vehicle maintenance practices. The camp will take place at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center from 9:00am until 4:30pm on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Anyone wishing to attend must complete the application and return it to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office either in person or by mail. Deadline for applications is Friday, July 01, 2016. Applications may be picked up at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office during normal business hours. Space is limited.

Fast-paced team drills and games focused on enhancing court awareness, better understanding of game flow, anticipation, readiness, transitioning between offense and defense. Lower school girls continue developing ball control and playing the game correctly (three touches "pass-set-hit" vs. volleyball "tennis"). Daily team recognition. Camp ends with a tournament, which is always a blast. Join us for a fun week with friends, classmates and teammates, playing the game we love.
