Youth Curator Camp Virginia Museum of Natural History Saturday, December 19 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Youth Curator Camp is an opportunity for children ages 6 to 12 to learn about the museum while participating in fun, hands-on activities and programs. Parents and guardians – this is a great opportunity for your children to experience a day of scientific adventure and discovery while you finish up any last-minute holiday shopping! Campers will meet the museum’s scientists and learn about real museum collections. There will be demonstrations of the casting and molding program, with children having the opportunity to create, paint and take home their very own fossil cast! In addition to these unique activities, campers will enjoy pizza and a movie in the museum’s Education Center. Keep it real this winter by joining Doulos Youth (7th-12th grade) for Crossroads' second annual Winter Camp! It’ll be a weekend packed FULL of awesome worship, life-changing messages, group games, and time to just hang out with your friends. There is a non-refundable deposit of $75 due at registration. Regular registration is $125 by October 31. If your student attends 80 percent of their connect group, they will be able to attend camp for only $100! All sign-ups are online. Growing Scientists: Nature Detectives - CuriOdyssey
Look through lenses, peek at a plant, or construct creations inspired by nature. Follow your nose through our garden, touch a tortoise, and search outdoors for clues to natures design. This camp encourages young scientists to explore the world using all five senses. Well explore nature through safe and exciting investigations of sound, light, texture, taste, and smell. Campers are sure to enjoy getting their hands dirty as they discover the sparkly, gooey, and stinky sides of science! Growing Scientists must be at least 3 years old by June 1, 2016, potty trained and able to use the bathroom independently. Junior Red Ball Tennis Camp 5-6 yrs - Tennis Courts
Fun tennis specific activities to develop balance, agility, ball tracking and hand/eye coordination. Kids will practice sending & receiving the ball and serving overhead on small courts, with balls that bounce slower and lower, just for them! Please bring appropriate size racquet: 19"-21". Creating on Canvas - Spring Has Sprung - Ballenger Creek Elementary School (Title 1)
5 Week Session Your artist will create five individual canvas paintings! We will explore themes such as bugs, flowers, and the beach all while learning acrylic painting techniques. Aprons will be provided, but please be aware that our artist quality paint does stain. NOTES: 1. Please pack a small PEANUT FREE snack for your child. We will have a 15 min snack break before class starts. 2. After school, students will be dismissed via announcements to the designated area or classroom. If students do not show we will contact the front office and the parent/guardian to make sure there is a reason for your childs absence. **Please remind your child they have Club Scientific or KidzArt in the morning so they do not forget where to go that day after school. 3. -- Pick up is at 5:00 pm * Pick up will be out front of the school or in the front entry area. * You will need to sign your child out at pick up.
