Nearly one billion people on our planet lack access to clean water. Thats one billion people who cant drink from a faucet, shower or cook a meal without risk of illness - or worse! In this course, students will collaborate with a Global Partner Student from a developing country to help quench the thirst of the world. Through video message exchanges they will learn about each other and explore how water is used in each others culture, study the chemical properties of water and the water cycle, and then use the engineering design process to build, test and tweak biodomes, water towers, and water filtration systems to better understand how water systems can be polluted and purified. As their understanding of the subject matter grows, students will work closely with their Global Partners to develop a hands-on research project that shows the water problems each of their countries face while sharing practical ways to address these problems and help bring clean water to the world! Spend your summer vacation with us! Wright Denny Day Camp offers 2 trips to the Jefferson Memorial pool per week and weekly themed crafts and activities. T-shirt is included in camp price. Camp hours are 8:00am-4:00pm. Cost for camp is $95 per week (4th of July week is $76).Full payment is due at time of registration. Parent or guardian MUST complete a camp registration form as well a health form for each child they are registering.
