Escape From City Life
Canyon Creek is just about an hour’s drive outside LA and I’m really glad we took our kids. They learned a lot about several different sports and seemed to be really excited when we picked them up. It is near a large lake and is a beautiful area. The camp was huge and had many sporting facilities. All of the equipment seemed to be new and the camp counselors were great with the kids. MCC Kid Camp - Alliance, OH
Kids ages 7 to 11 (by 9/1/15) are invited to participate in 1, 2, or 3 activities for 3 days in July. They can sign up for Basketball from 9:30-11:30, Soccer from 12:30-2:30, Art from 3:00-5:00, or a combination of 2 or 3 of these activities. Costs are as follows: $10 per kid for 1 activity, $20 per kid for 2 activities, or $25 for ALL 3, which will include lunch and a snack each day. In the event that your household has more than 2 kids participating, cost is a MAX of $25 per family for 1 Activity, $50 MAX for 2 activities, and $60 MAX for ALL 3 Activities. EVERY KID WHO PARTICIPATES, REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY ACTIVITIES, WILL RECEIVE AN EVENT SHIRT TO BE WORN EACH DAY. Signups for this event begin May 3rd and run through June 14th. Put them together: art and animals! Dogs, cats, wild ones, tame ones, pets & best buddies – theyll be the stars of the week. You will build up your techniques defining proportion, sketching, inking, water coloring, and painting before you top off the week with the grand finale – a painting in acrylics of your favorite pet. This camp is a creative combination of art and space. Campers will use visual arts to explore the final frontier! Two dimensional projects, such as drawing, painting, and collage, will focus on design elements such as color, line, and shape. Using clay, campers will take inspiration from textures and patterns found in space when they learn the basics of hand building techniques and out-of-this-world wheel throwing. Hey, I like my house.. but I like yours more. Think Ill take it! Yep, thats a hermit crab for you - always taking your stuff! Lets capture a few of them and see what shells they prefer and why. Does a hermit prefer a sturdy fortress of a shell or a light easy-to-run with shell? Well track them by their trails and see where they go. Then of course, we have to build our own houses - light or sturdy- and protect them from other marauding hermits. And by the way, whats the difference between an ocean hermit crab and a land hermit crab? And have you ever seen pictures of crazy-big land crabs that use coconuts for shells?!! You will.
