Great Outdoors - EcoAdventures
Great Outdoors June 27th-July 1st 9am – 4pm (Ages 5 – 11) Monday – Friday Its back to nature in this camp and we mean literally! If it has to do with nature and the great outdoors we are all over it! These days kids seem to be losing touch with nature, so in this camp we are going to bring them back to the wild side. Kids will leave civilization behind as we head out into the great unknown to learn all about nature and surviving the outdoors. Campers will get the ins and outs of navigating trails, compass use, telling time by the sun, identify animal tracks, interact daily with animals, make fossils, build a drift shelter, survival skills, make Native American crafts, outdoor cooking (more than just smores) and so much more. By the end of camp you might not get your kid to come back into the house! Pint sized survivalist fun is on order for this camp on the Wild Side! Join us for a week of thriving and surviving at Forest Camp. Become the eyes and ears of the forest as you learn confidence through the skills of the scout. Discover how to blend into the landscape through the arts of camouflage, navigation without compass or map, and stealthy movement. Together with your fellow adventurers you will build fire from friction, craft and use natural tools, identify and harvest edible plants, cook over open fires, sleep in a rain-proof shelter you build yourself, and more! In addition, Forest Campers can swim, play capture the flag, pick wild raspberries, play music, tend the camp garden, or build wilderness shelters during free time. Forest camp inspires youths natural discovery, cooperation, responsibility, and independence. Campers spend their week in traditional Adirondack Shelters with up to eight other campers. Our girls and boys cabins are located on separate ends of campus. This is a great introduction to Robotics. Students learn to assemble and program Lego Mindstorms robots. Students follow the Lego building instructions to create vehicles, animals, humanoids etc. Students will explore how light, touch, sound, and ultrasonic sensors can enhance their robots. 480-833-7338

This camp is designed to be an intense camp for in-going grades 6th-12th who wish to prepare themselves for high school, college or beyond. Fundamental skill development on offense, defense and conditioning principles for all positions on the floor will be stressed. Both individual and team play development will be improved by attending this camp. Many of the same drills and techniques used by Coach Yori and her staff at Nebraska will be taught. Elite Camp begins in the evening of June 1 at 7:00pm. Registration for overnight campers will begin at 5:45pm and Commuter Campers at 6:30pm. The camp runs all day on June 2-3 and concludes at 4:00pm on June 3. If your camper is also registered for Skills Camp on June 1, there will be a dinner break and the Elite Session will begin at 7:00pm.
