Weinberg Y in Waverly Cycle a Kid to Camp - Baltimore, MD
Announcing our first annual Weinberg Cycle a Kid to Camp event! Join us for a lot of fun and raise funds to send Baltimore City children to Y Camp where they will spend the summer learning, laughing and playing, as children should. Register to ride for an hour or all four OUTSIDE on the cycle studio bikes! We will have a live DJ pumping the jams to keep your feet pedaling for Y kids! Giveaways will occur evey hour for the riders! And we will have refreshments. Register and begin fundraising! The goal of the Teen Life Skills Camp is to prepare the youth for adulthood by teaching and building upon their life skills. They will spend two days in a warm and nurturing environment learning principles of manhood, woman hood, interpersonal communication skills, problem solving skills, team work, collaboration and culture competence. This event will start off at Deliverance Tabernacle Christian Center and then the learning environment will shift to Oak Grove Park on Naval Air Station Pensacola. During the course of the 3 day, 2 night camp, they will be apart of discussions: (the young men)the role and purpose of a man, leadership, teach them how to tie a neck tie and they will receive a tie. Documentary Teen Camp - Houston, TX
Young film enthusiasts learn how to make documentaries in a safe and fun environment. Learn story development, camera operation, lighting, sound, interviewing, editing and work with a real orchestra to score your final film. Invite your friends and family to watch your final documentary on screen. The campers will work with the music students in the film scoring program during the AFA's 2016 Summer Music Conservatory at Pershing Middle School. Filmmaking is a very collaborative process that involves all the arts. The camp culminates in a screening of the final film, an exhibition of poster concepts and an awards ceremony of statuettes that they have made commemorating various aspects of the experience.
