Not Your Typical Cooking Camp - Havens Elementary School
Students will have an amazing week learning, creating, and consuming! During the week long experience, campers will not only make something edible everyday - breads, pretzels, cookies - they learn how people around the world meet their nutritional needs, and how food is produced from farm to table, and look at the history of breads. Campers will come home with a book of nutritious recipes and an increased interest in the kitchen! We will investigate solids and liquids and put out a match without touching it. Explore the wonders of inertia and learn the secret behind the magic table cloth trick. Well put a hole in our hand during an optical illusion class, and use static electricity to make things levitate. Day Camp Session II - St. Johns Country Day School
Excitement awaits the day campers, ages 4 - 13, as they report to their air-conditioned cabins, located on the campus of St. Johns. Grouped by age and supervised by trained, full-time counselors, the campers safety and enjoyment are the primary concerns of each staff member. We also offer a specialized self-contained summer camp program for four year olds. Campers will be under the supervision of our certified Lower School teachers. Activities include arts and crafts, music and movement, outdoor fun, and story time. Children that wish to participate in our four-year-old program must turn four years of age before June 10, and be potty trained. Children need to bring lunch and a change of clothes. Campers enjoy the use of St. Johns 26-acre campus, including its outdoor athletic fields and play equipment, shower and locker facilities, fine arts resources, 25-yard swimming pool, computer labs, and air-conditioned gymnasiums. All campers through grade 4 have swim lessons. Standard guidelines are used to establish swimming levels, and parents receive a report at the end of each two-week session. Campers may register for one session (two weeks) or up to four sessions (eight weeks). Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., five days... 904-264-9572
