Join us on Sunday, July 10th for a special one-hour Boot Camp Fitness Class to support New York Road Runners' (NYRR) Youth Programs, which serve over 200,000 students annually with free running and fitness experiences. During this special Boot Camp Fitness Class hosted by Michelle Stiglitz, you will sweat your way through a series of various exercise all to support a good cause. The class will be held outdoors in Clove Lakes park. We will meet promptly at 9:00am on the Martling Avenue Bridge (near the Staten Island Zoo parking lot) Please bring a mat or towel and a bottle of water. *All fitness levels are welcome to participate! To sign up for this fun morning of outdoor fitness, a minimum donation of $25 per person is required. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early. We will start promptly at 9:00 am. Open to kids ages 4-18, (different age groups available) campers are invited to Frequent Flyer's Aerial Dance Studio to learn skills on trapeze, aerial fabric, sling, acrobatics and so much more. Skyhawks Tennis Camp - City of Mukilteo Recreation
In Skyhawks tennis programs, players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. Athletes also learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis an exciting game. Due to limited court space, these programs fill quickly. participants should bring racquet, appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen. ROBOTICS Explore and build with Lego WeDo 2.0 robots. Students will build robots using the new Lego WeDo 2.0 system. Students will learn to assemble and program the robots to learn the basic concepts of programming. Once students have shown mastery of the system basics they will be allowed follow their own path as they investigate increasingly complex modules. Modules may include: Sorting to Recycle: Design a device that uses the physical properties of objects, including their shape and size, to sort them. Robust Structures: Investigate the characteristics that make a building earthquake resistant, using an earthquake simulator constructed from LEGO® bricks. MAKER STATION Learn how to build a catapult from common household materials and use the Engineering Design Process to improve your design. Prototype a foam rocket toy and experiment with the design to fly longer and farther. Build balloon powered rocket cars to race against your classmates. Students will be building with common household materials and applying the Engineering Design Process to their work. From fashion to home décor, Bizzy Girls will help you create a product, write a mini business plan, name your company, create a logo, ad campaign and video advertisement. Learn about cost, profit and branding. Upon registration, girls will receive a link to many product ideas so they can choose a product before camp starts. Each product will have a small list of supplies to bring to camp, all under $20. At the end of the camp we hold a pop up store where the girls get to sell their products and keep their profits! This is educational and fun! Supplies: Campers should bring a packed lunch with a beverage, snacks and plenty of water each day. Attire: Summer active wear and athletic shoes.
