Purple Tennis Nation is hosting a week of action packed tennis activities designed for beginning and intermediate level players. Each day will be loaded with drills and activities that will improve any level of player and instill a love for tennis and build character. Friday will be tournament day where all rally ready players will be grouped by age and ability to put their new and improving skills to test. I have been invited to be the Lead Speaker at this Year’s Youth Leadership Camp being held by The Christ United Methodist Church and Mississippi Families for Kids on the June 27, 2016 starting at 9:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. I am so honored that I have have been asked and I look forward to Empowering our Leaders of Tomorrow with the Encouraging of Words of God. In addition, to utilizing my life experiences, professional knowledge and expertise to inform participants of what is necessary to achieve their goals and how to become successful adults. It is my desire that youth will be able to reach inside of themselves to identify those strengths that will be the driving forces for their futures. So, on June 27, 2016 come out and help us..... Camps - Discovery Camp - Recreation Center at Michelle Obma School of Techn
Participants in Discovery Camp will engage in sports, art classes, swimming lessons, open swim, movie day and weekly field trips. There will be plenty of fun had by all. Participants provide their own sack lunch, swimsuit, towel, movie concession money. Snacks, swim instruction, open swim, all classes, movie admission and field trips are included. No camp July 4. Payment Plan Terms: A $100 deposit per camper and a $10 payment plan processing fee must be paid in full at registration. Remaining camp balance must be paid in full by Monday, June 6, 2016 to attend camp. Contact Recreation & Parks Department for more information. On-line registration for camps is not available. Refund requests made prior to the start date of a program will be cheerfully given less a 5% refund fee. The application is open to current Ensworth students who are age 14 or older by June 1. We typically receive many more applications than positions available; not everyone who applies will receive a position. Shooting Basics - Next Level Gym
Shooting Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Shooting Fundamentals Series. Designed to help athletes develop or improve their shooting form. Shooting Basics will teach players correct footwork, body positioning and ball placement as they execute shots from various positions on the court. Step in shots, shots off the dribble and off the catch will be the concentration in this program. Players will also work on range shooting and free throw positioning and routine. Each player will build the muscle memory to consistently shoot with control and confidence. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Shooting Fundamentals Block - Shot Breakdown. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions.
