Prepare for SAT success! In this rigorous, half-day camp, youll learn the form and style of the test--which was completely redesigned as of March 2016--as well as the essential content and strategies for approaching each question on the critical reading and writing portions of the SAT. You will learn how to recognize the types of questions asked on the reading passages, become a more critical reader, and identify the evidence on which your answers are based. For the writing section, we will review the most commonly tested grammar rules and skills as well as learn and practice what it takes to write an outstanding essay, which is now optional and follows a completely different format from the previous version of the SAT. Youll leave this camp with the confidence and skills to make your best score yet on critical reading and writing! (An SAT book will be provided.) Jaymee Gaskins received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a masters in Reading Education from Meredith College. Team Prep USA will host their 9th annual Rocky Mountain Cross Country Camp in Crested Butte/Gunnison, Colorado. Camp will be held at the Western State College in Gunnison Colorado, home of the Division II perennial powerhouse Mountaineers distance programs and just 30 minutes south of Team Prep USAs headquarters and training center. Attendees of camp will have the opportunity to train at elevations ranging from 7,700 ft. to 10,500 ft. of the Colorado Rocky Elk Mountain Range. The Gunnison Valley of Colorado has become a Mecca, according to Nike for athletes of all kinds to train. Fencing Camp: Foil, Sabre And Epee - McLean Community Center
No previous training needed. Often called ?the physical game of chess? and ?the noble sport?, fencing requires mental strength and quickness, and improves coordination, balance, speed and grace. Campers use the Foil (a light training sword) and are introduced to Sabre (the modern equivalent of the cavalry sword) and Epee (the modern equivalent of the dueling sword). Safety tipped swords, protective jackets, masks, and gloves make fencing one of the safest sports.
