LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Girls entering Grade 6 in Fall 2016 - Huddart Park
Campers entering grade 6 are grouped in units with girls of their own age/grade and are supervised by trained staff members and program aides. Campers participate in a wide variety of activities including earning badges, hiking, outdoor cooking, learning outdoor skills, crafts, games, singing and more. Girls entering grade 6 in Fall 2016 will be going horseback riding one day during the first week of camp (additional waiver form required for this activity). Girls are will spend the night at camp on Wednesday, July 27th with their unit. If you wish for your camper to Opt-Out of horseback riding or the overnight, please check the appropriate box in the registration form. 650-308-8438

Kids After Schoo Core Cooking Camp, Ages 5-8 (Bellevue) - Bellevue, WA
This is a wonderful program that will lay the foundation for healthy eating by educating and empowering students (ages 5-8) about basic kitchen safety, creating a healthy balanced plate, how to subsititue ingredients to make meals healthier and so much more! Classes are sold in a session of four, are held on Wednesdays frm January 4th-25th and are two hours long. The first 30 minutes of each class is dedicated to nutrition education including games and activities. The remaining time is dedicated to cooking, eating, and cleanup. Our Core Cooking Program covers topics such as: Kitchen Safety, Cross-Contamination, Healthy Snacks, Fueling Your Body, Healthy Breakfasts, MyPlate Nutrition, Lunch N Munch, Healthy Cooking Substitutions of Kids’ Favorite Foods Activity sheets, recipes, helpful tips, and individual workstations for hands-on activity are included in the course. Recipes may include things like: avocado veggie dip, peanut butter banana whole wheat coins (nut-free substitutions available if needed), eggs in a basket, French toast, chocolate banana & strawberry smoothie, cranberry broccoli salad, zesty bean dip, pizza spiral sandwiches, sweet potato fries, steak/chicken/veggie grilled skewers, and Parmesan chicken tenders. ORIGINS Youth Camp 2016 - Sparks, OK
Parents the Youth have chosen Camp #2 which is May 30th - June 3rd. I know it seems far away but we MUST have an idea on a head count so we can go ahead and get our week reserved. It will more than likely be 100% full within a week so we would choose week #3 which is June 6th-June 10th. THE KIDS are choosing Camp #2 because of the speaker we had last year will be at Camp #2. Please chat with your YOUTH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and let me know by this Wedneday if at all possible. I would like to send in the registration fee for each kid this week to reserve our spots. Concepts such as pH, polymers, and solutions are taught using our The Science Involved section of each activity. Experiments are conducted to introduce the Scientific Method.
