Annual Camping & Kid Fish Event in the Park - W.m. Brook Park
The annual camping and kid fish event will be held on June 5-6, 2015 at W. M. Brook Park. Registration will be held on Friday, June 5th at 6pm followed by a hot dog supper, movie in the park (The Goonies) , and campfire fun. Participants can then go camping or fishing. Kid fishing will occur through Saturday, June 6th until 12pm. Awards and presentations will be given out from 12-1pm. For more information, contact Micky Tower at 512-734-1076.
Oquirrh Lake Stake Mini Youth Conference - Heber City, UT
A Stake Mini-Youth Conference will be held Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Heber Valley Girl’s Camp. All youth ages 14-18 (by March 5th, 2016) who live in the Oquirrh Lake Stake boundaries are invited to attend. The theme is “Press Forward” which is attributed to our 2016 Worldwide Youth Theme “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life” (2 Nephi 31:20). Campers will learn how to make no-cook meals, food safety, and the nutritional components of foods that are the building blocks for life! Participants are divided into groups based on chosen offensive and defensive position, and rotate through drills, skills and technique instruction throughout the day. The camp creates the opportunity to improve play, learn from college coaches, showcase talents and learn about the opportunities to continue ones academic and athletic career in college. Lacrosse: the fastest growing team sport in America. This camp is designed for girls and boys. Non-contact lacrosse, also know as "Soft Lacrosse" is played. Individual skills are taught: catching, throwing, scooping and cradling. Campers will be divided by age and skill level. Sports Unlimited provides all the equipment. and focuses on fun, skill development, team play, safety and sportsmanship. Campers should bring sunscreen, water and a snack. Rain make ups will take place on Fridays.
