Adult campers between the ages of 18 and 99 with physical and/or developmental disabilities. 2 nights. Personal Care: Participants must be independent with their personal care needs. Individuals who require more than minor assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding and other personal care will not be accepted. Individuals requiring medical care other than the administration of medications will not be accepted. There will not be a nurse in attendance- medications will be managed by trained camp staff. Behavioral Challenges: Individuals with severe behavioral issues including acting out, inability to remain with the group, self-injurious/assaultive behaviors or aggressive tendencies will not be accepted. Campers will be assisted in ski activities and/or camping activities but must be interested and willing to participate in order to attend either of these programs. Staffing Ratios: Participants must be able to function safely in a group environment. Staff to camper ratios will be 1 to 5 during most times of the day. Registration for the retreat will be held on Saturday, January 28, from 3– 4 p.m. and will dismiss at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 29. The Teen Winter Retreat will feature many fun events, activities and programs. You will need to bring your completed health form and activity release form that is signed by your parent/guardian in order to participate. Please bring warm clothes and comfortable shoes as we will probably be taking part in some outdoor activities during the retreat. You will also need to bring your own, bedding, towels and bathroom supplies. Registrations should be submitted by Friday, January 20 to Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp. Pathfinding: Children learn basic map and compass skills to explore Kincaid Park. Activities include map making, orienteering, volcano explosions and geography of the park. The Farm Hands program is a great camp experience for kids that love to be outside working in the garden or learning how to care for our farm animals. Activities can vary from day to day because we work with the rhythm of the working farm. The sibling week was created a number of years back in response to feedback from parents that wanted their multi-aged children to attend together. You dont need to have a sibling or even a friend to register for sibling week, just be excited for making new friends of all ages. One of the most popular aspects of sibling week is that children are offered more choices of what activities to choose each day so they can create their own camp experience. This option is for campers ages 3 & 4 Camped Up is a day camp program located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for children with a hearing loss, using an oral approach. Our mission is to provide a community in which each child will be able to socialize with other hearing aid and cochlear implant users, gain self advocacy skills and have a blast in a unique listener friendly environment. Choose any six weeks for your child to attend. Additional weeks may be added later by contacting the Director at the established rate.
