The Derek Lewis Foundation continues to combat childhood obesity in the state of Arkansas by promoting execercise and healthy eating for school aged children. Increasing physical activity helps school age children to live a healthy lifestyle. Bike4kids is an annual event that helps school age children get their first bike to get them started on a postive path. This event is a special night to donate money to future campers. Indoor Volleyball Camp - Ages 5-8 - 535 West County Road B-2
Intro to volleyball through skill development and small group games. Staff will focus on helping athletes learn the rules of volleyball while working on team play and sportsmanship. Individual skills taught: spiking, serving, setting & hitting. Groups by age and skill level. Staff to camper ratio 10-1. Bring knee pads, a water bottle, snack and a great attitude. Dive deep into the mysterious and inspiring world of our avian friends. Join us for five days of exploring the astounding lives of Birds. In this course you will gain a solid foundation in Bird Identification and Bird Language, gaining remarkable insights about what our avian friend can tell us about our environment and ourselves. Campers will become advanced forensic scientists for the week! Campers will analyze and gather evidence for a number of fictitious crime scenes, use luminal and UV light to detect the presence of blood, complete a blood splatter analysis, take crime scene photographs, complete a drug and poison analysis. Campers will also gather insects as from our rotting carcass (pork chop) as they discover how CSIs use their entomology skills to determine time of death. Get on your broomsticks for the most magical sport in the world — Kidditch, or Quidditch for kids! Quidditch is like playing ultimate Frisbee, tag and basketball all at once. In addition to practicing good sportsmanship, safety and teamwork, players will learn the basic rules of quidditch as they try each of the four positions: chaser, beater, keeper and seeker.
