The summer will be gone before we know it, but we are still galloping full speed ahead which is why Tomten Farm and Sanctuary will be offering a special mentoring program to animal loving kids ages 11-16. This unique program is designed for kids with the desire to learn more about the day-to-day operations of an animal sanctuary and get hands on experience with our rescues. Taught by our long term volunteer and intern, UNH Equine Science major, Aileen W., it’s sure to be chock of personal attention, education, hard work, and more animals than you can count. Join us at the farm 2-3 weekdays from July 10th to the 31st, 10:30-2:30 and help us go above and beyond to maintain happy, healthy animals 365 days a year. As always, safety comes first so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing (closed toed, hard shoes, bug spray and sunscreen) and bring a signed release, a copy parent/guardian license or federal ID (feel free to black out addresses, birth dates, and SS or S numbers) drinks, lunch, and an appetite to contribute and get involved with one of your favorite rescues! Campfires, Bible lessons, crafts, nature hikes, recreation and swimming are just the beginning of an activity-filled week for campers who are completing the 5th to 7th grades. Campers will enjoy canoeing and archery. All camp activities are designed to meet the needs of tweens. This is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and reconnect with those met before. The Prospect Camp is designed for those wishing to learn more about playing at the collegiate level. This camp will provide the serious soccer player with the understanding of what it will take for success at the collegiate level. Coaching staff is made up of current University of Michigan Soccer staff and are assisted by current members of the team. A number of other local/regional/national college coaches will also assist as a coach or will be in attendance to watch and evaluate talent. As part of this camp we also offer a presentation from Coach Daley and the Admissions Department here at The University of Michigan. This presentation will undoubtedly provide useful and resourceful information on the college admissions process, the daily lifestyle of a student-athlete and college financial aid. 734-647-1201
