This fun-filled Monday-Friday camp is designed for your child to take part in eleven weeks of recreational activities, swimming, field trips and more. Environmental Art Camp (VSA Tennessee partnership) - Gallatin, TN
Environmental Art Camp is a program created specifically for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13 who are interested in the environment and have a love of art. The camp will be under the direction of VSA Tennessee teaching artist, Dee Kimbrell. During the camp, the young people will learn about environmental issues and their effect on our national parks. Participants will create their own tunnel books that reflect ecosystems within the parks. They will also create a larger tunnel book specific to the Smoky Mountain National Park. This book will be given to the park as a 100th anniversary gift at Tremont in October. The book will remain on site as an educational tool. Camp open to boys and girls entering grades 3 - 8 Instructor: Ryan Robinson, Amy Mc Neil and Michelle Robinson Enjoy the experience of running on Waterfords acclaimed Cross Country course at Hess-Hathaway Park. Under the tutelage of veteran teachers/coaches, boys and girls will learn the joy of an exercise program revolving around cross country running can bring with a group of running companions. Camp will be structured to fully include beginners as well as experienced runners and will include elements suitable to all campers. Camp includes a t-shirt and refreshments. Riders must take at least one lesson at Winding Creek to be evaluated for camp due to the overnight trip and trail ride components.
