Girls experience the power of the full REALgirl curriculum over the course of 5 days. REALgirl® is dedicated to inspiring and guiding girls to discover their REAL (authentic) selves and develop the skills, knowledge, confidence and courage they need to consistently make informed life-choices from a place of self-knowledge, self-respect and strength. It is our goal to provide essential life skills every girl/young woman needs for healthy maturation, development, formation of healthy relationships and the opportunity to reach her own unique and highest potential. Through art, movement (yoga and dance), discussion, writing, theatre games, guest speakers and a variety of other fun and dynamic activities, participants will be guided to develop tools to successfully navigate issues every girl faces today. What Is the Difference between Day and Overnight Summer Camp?
An overnight program is commonly called sleep-away camp. Youth go away for a period of time and sleep in cabins or tents with their camp counselors and other campers. Overnight camps are structured to offer kids a variety of activities and to increase kids’ independence, self-esteem and social skills. Many overnight programs include field trips, treks or community service opportunities in addition to traditional activities like swimming and arts and crafts. Improv…Coming Out of Your Shell - The Derryfield School
This class will explore the art of improvisation with an emphasis on confidence building and acting technique. Theatre games, creative scene scenarios, role playing, as well as soliloquy and monologue training are just some of the methods used in the course. Students will design and create characters that will change and evolve during the class as they interact with each other on the stage without the use of scripts. Audition Workshop - SoDo Theatre
This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to gain confidence and experience auditioning! Students will participate in a variety of mock auditions and receive individual feedback, as well as tips on cold readings of scenes, song/monologue selection, on-camera acting, and more. Seniors participating in the Common Application Bootcamp will complete–in its entirety–the 2015-2016 Common Application. This includes the basic demographic and personal information, as well as the activities list and essay. Students will have 1:1 meetings to discuss essays and other portions of the Common Application.
