This course will focus on choral work and youll dive deeper into the art of listening as you build harmonies layered with solo moments. Song selection will come from around the globe as you discover your own creative singing voice. Youll be training like a professional through serious voice warm ups and voice manipulation while you sing through music genres such as the blues, rock, pop, gospel and vocal jazz. Youll work on stage presence and mic control as you figure out & break down what makes a great performance - which together youll create for a grand last day finale. All levels of singers, welcome! Robotic Dog & Photovore - Wow Science - Voorhees
Using cybernetic principles pioneered by Norbert Wiener (1894-1964), campers will build a robotic dog that can walk, sense obstacles and navigate around them, and perform other tricks. Herbivores eat vegetables. Carnivores eat meat. A photovore seeks out the brightest light. Campers will build a robot that will turn and roll to locate and bask in the brightest light possible. When it finds the brightest light in a location, it will stop and emit a purr (or burp) to show that it is content. NOTE: THIS PROGRAM RUNS MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FOR A HALF DAY. FRIDAYS ARE FIELD TRIP DAYS AND ARE THEREFORE FULL DAYS. UNLESS THE CAMP DIRECTOR GIVES YOU AN EARLIER ARRIVAL TIME, PLAN TO DROP OFF YOUR CHILD AT 9:00 AM ON FRIDAYS. The Grandview Basketball camp has been the premiere resident basketball camp in Northwest Pennsylvania since 1970. The foundation of fundamentals and character development instilled by camp founder Bill Flaherty is still the basis of Grandview. The Grandview staff consists of some of the most accomplished coaches and players in Erie basketball. Generations of Erie basketball players have been impacted by the Grandview camp. The camp offers something for everyone, from the beginning player to the aspiring college prospect. Recently we added the varsity division for players in Grades 11-12 and it was a big success. They will also practice cooking skills, learn kid-friendly games, go swimming and have the opportunity to work with our youngest camps. This week will leave campers with the confidence and knowledge to start taking care of little ones! Camp fee includes babysitter handbook & certificate and First Aid/CPR certification.
