S.T.E.A.M. into fun with this innovative and dynamic summer camp. Villa-Parkes Enrichment Camp creates an exciting learning environment that explores the five core concepts of the S.T.E.A.M. curriculum: science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Each weeks activities are based on a theme. For example, during Space Exploration Week, campers may take a field trip to the Griffith Observatory, base their art projects around the solar system, do astronaut training activities for fitness and learn space themed vocabulary in Spanish. Campers do wacky science experiments, explore technology and mathematics through Lego(R) robotics in the computer lab, complete engineering challenges and attend language lessons including American Sign Language and Spanish. The camp also incorporates traditional camp arts and crafts activities like painting, drawing and beadwork, as well as ceramics instruction and the use of pottery wheels. Daily activities include at least 90 minutes of high-energy physical fitness. Specialized sports instruction is offered for both tennis and golf. Campers participate in recreational swim two times per week. Camp counselors go into the water with the campers and well-trained, certified lifeguards are always present. Summer Farm Camp 2016 - The Painted Pony Farm
This Farm Camp is open to children 5-13 year olds. Each day begins at 9:00 am with special time in the barnyard. Every half an hour we change to a new activity. The day includes music,games, making a snack,crafts and water play. Your day is complete at 2:00 pm. You will receive a camp t-shirt and make memories that will ast a lifetime. 805-525-9820

Daily activities for children who are in the two-year-old program are based upon projects and units of study. A balanced schedule provides experiences in group and individual settings and includes stories, music, language experiences, natural discovery, and inquisitive discussions. Classrooms are arranged into centers that include age-appropriate educational toys, materials, and games based upon the interests of the children. These include centers for books, blocks, sensory materials, art, puzzles and manipulatives, math, science, and dramatic play. Children have the opportunity to work and play in these centers individually, with a friend, or in small groups. Choosing centers provides practice in making decisions, following directions, working independently, and learning about the care and use of materials. Outside time offers opportunities for gross motor development (including climbing, running, jumping, pedaling, and building), social interactions, as well as a chance to experience weather and seasons. Children can also experiment with sand and water during these outside periods. Daily group lessons include stories, music, gross motor activities, language experiences, and discussions including questioning and research. Come play the Beautiful Game! Play soccer on Randalls Island with Corbins Crusaders experienced coaches. Children will work on fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defensive skills and team strategy in an exciting atmosphere. We play games each week. In inclement weather well be playing indoor soccer in a gym close to school.
