Hi Everyone! It's almost 2016, which means it's finally time to start preparations for this summer's camp! The first informational meeting will be on Saturday, January 9th. There will be a total of two informational meetings (the second on January 31st). If you are applying to be a full time counselor for the first time, you are required to attend at least one of the meetings. Also, keep an eye out on your emails for the counselor application that will be released soon. Can't wait to see all of you on January 9th! Join the women of Orangewood for a retreat away from the busyness of life to connect with and learn from each other! Through conquering low and high ropes course elements, navigation challenges and other group initiatives, campers will build self-confidence, leadership skills and a greater appreciation for nature. SPRING 2016: SURVIVOR FROG! Have you ever wondered how to make fire without matches, purify water, and build your own shelter? Or what you would do if you were stranded on a desert island? If so, then join Survivor Frog! We will learn to recognize and prepare edible plants, track and stalk wild animals, and make rope and baskets out of plants that grow in your neighborhood park. Our amazing Animal Ambassadors will be our guides as we gain survival skills, learn to work as a team, and explore the natural world all around us! There are no breaks during this session. Want to learn the Java programming language? Want to mod (modify) in Minecraft? Do both with this camp as you learn the fundamentals of Java programming by creating your own modification for every item, block, or creature you add. First design the graphics, then modify Java code to quickly program new features. You will edit Java templates in order to learn the fundamentals of the language without getting bogged down typing hundreds of lines of code, one by one.
