Environmental Art Camp (VSA Tennessee partnership) - Gallatin, TN
Environmental Art Camp is a program created specifically for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13 who are interested in the environment and have a love of art. The camp will be under the direction of VSA Tennessee teaching artist, Dee Kimbrell. During the camp, the young people will learn about environmental issues and their effect on our national parks. Participants will create their own tunnel books that reflect ecosystems within the parks. They will also create a larger tunnel book specific to the Smoky Mountain National Park. This book will be given to the park as a 100th anniversary gift at Tremont in October. The book will remain on site as an educational tool. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis to the first 20 who register. Registration available by email at: [email protected]

Kid's Summer Camp at the Mount - Colonial Heights, VA
A week of fun, faith, and friends for kids who have completed grades K-5. Camp will include: worship, Bible study, trips & more! Camp runs August 15-19, with lunch and family dinner provided. Each day starts at 9 am with family dinner each night at 5:30 pm. Total cost is $100 per child with nonrefundable $25 deposit due by June 12. Volunteers & Chaperones needed. Broadway Musical Performance Theater - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
Do you like to sing, dance, and perform? Have a fun filled time learning show music, choreography, and acting from a musical comedy script and then performing a musical theater production. Theater skills in vocalization, stage direction, choreography, creating the scene, characterizations, song interpretation, improvisation, costuming and stage make-up will be coveredSome shows under consideration are Annie, Grease, Mary Poppins, Wicked, The Wiz, Chorus Line, Les Miz, Sound of Music , Beauty and the Beast and other popular Broadway Hits. Week 2 AM - Kayak Fishing - NESS
This week is open to experienced kayakers and anglers who are ready to take their skills to the next level! Some of last years catches included porgies, snapper blues, pilot fish, trigger fish and even a remora! You never know exactly what will happen in this exciting class where we get to explore more closely some of the best inshore fishing spots. We will be teaching the basics of fishing from a kayak, tying knots, baiting hooks, cleaning gear, and practicing fishing safety. We practice catch and release only.
