This two week, high-energy camp is for children who love drama and the arts and who are looking to build their creativity, confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills through the performing arts. The two-week camp concludes with ?An Evening of Entertainment" featuring a performance put on by the campers. Participants will learn about the many components of theater production, from costumes and makeup to set design and blocking. This camp meets at the Hickory Lodge, 1115 W. Guided by our American Red Cross Certified Staff, this summer promises to be one adventure after the other. For our 2017 youth camping trip we will be going to Tyler tx , we will have two or three shelters to stay in. This year's theme will be Deep waters , and deeply rooted. There will be different rules this year and alot more fun , God is preparing something amazing for us this year. I'll have the packs ready to go by the beginning of February. Volunteers are welcome please inform me by May 10th if you wish to help out. All donations are welcome at anytime , or come to one of our fundraiser to pitch in. Positive Coaching Alliance certified coaches Chris and Jay instruct kids in the basics of the sport, so that kids come out knowing everything they need to be young fencers. Biology Explorers is an exciting week of applied science for middle school grade girls. From microorganisms to the biosphere, campers learn about many of the questions, techniques, and equipment scientists use to study the different levels of life. Each morning, campers see demonstrations and perform experiments in the biology labs at Saint Marys School. In the afternoon, campers travel to a variety of local scientific points of interest to watch professional scientists at work. Past field trips have included the Phytotron and Solar House at NCSU, the Sharon Harris Plant, and the Duke Lemur Center. Katie Floyd is an Instructor of Science at Saint Marys School. Ms. Floyd earned her B.A. from Hollins College and her M. S. from Emory University. She taught for ten years at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA where, in addition to teaching 14 different courses, she taught the science component of Spectacles, a residential summer camp for middle school girls. Ms. Floyd has been teaching at Saint Marys for sixteen years and has served as the director of Biology Explorers for over ten years. 9194244028.0
