Instructor: Roger Finch This course is for students who want to weld steel that is 1/8 inch thick and up. At their own workstation, the students will learn M.I.G. Welding, Torch Brazing and Plasma cutting. These skills can be used to create anything from Garden Art to building a utility trailer. Each class will include theory, demonstration, and individual hands-on instruction. All basic supplies, including the Welders Manual by Roger Finch and the Victor Welding Guide are included in the materials fee and supplied on Class #1. A personal safety equipment list will be provided upon registration. NO Pre-requisite student/instructor ratio: 4 to 1 706-722-5495

I sent my teenager to the Taft Summer School in Watertown, CT this past summer and I am so glad I did! She was able to get intensive learning in a school environment, but it wasn't school. Youth Environmental Justice Alliance (YEJA) presents... YouthPass to the Future! Campaign for Free Bus Passes Do you believe in Youth Power? in Transit Justice? Come to our "YouthPass to the Future" Campaign Kick-Off! OPAL's multi-racial youth program, Youth Environmental Justice Alliance, is organizing a community event to raise awareness about a campaign to sustain and expand the YouthPass program in Portland. Our goal for the campaign is to show the city, TriMet, our schools, and our community that affordable public transportation is important for youth to lead healthy lives, be able to thrive, and be successful. The youth-led event will officially launch our campaign and engage with community members and decision makers, especially in East Portland neighborhoods. There will be educational booths about transit justice, powerful youth testimonies, and cool performances! YouthPass to the Future Campaign: We want all high school students in Portland to be able to go to school and access opportunities that prepare them for success. Transit is an educational right! Let's permanently fund YouthPass and expand it to Parkrose and David Douglas High Schools! Free food. Guest speakers. Youth Stories. Performances.

F-2 Simple Chemistry Labs and Activities to Teach Difficult and Important Concepts - Aurora
This will be a hands-on session where participants will perform four chemistry activities/experiments (two of the experiments will be a variation on one theme). The topics will include bonding, equilibrium, and stoichiometry. Teachers will be provided with copies of the activities to take back to their classes. In the spirit of learning together, we ask participants to bring their favorite activity/lab to share with the group (these labs will not be performed, just shared. Gymnastics Camp, Ages 7-13 - Community House
Girls will have the opportunity to learn gymnastics including rhythmic gymnastics with hoops and ribbons, tumbling on the mats and have the opportunity to learn routines on the balance beam, the single and uneven parallel bars and the vault. Lorrie Rousseau is LPRDs Gymnastic Instructor during the school year and now Lorrie brings her talent and over 25 years of dance and gymnastic experience to our summer camps. This is an excellent opportunity for dancers and cheerleaders to get in shape and learn beginner through intermediate gymnastic level activities. Space is limited! Skyhawks Minihawk Camp This multi-sport program gives children a positive first step into athletics. Baseball, basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Our Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes. Sport Specific Requirements: All participants receive a t-shirt, water bottle and a merit award. The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 8:1. Participants should wear appropriate clothing and running shoes, bring two snacks and a water bottle. Ever wonder what mysteries lay beneath the waves? Discover the fascinating world of magnificent kelp forests, home to thousands of animals that rely upon the kelp for food, shelter, and survival. Come along and dive into this world with mask and snorkel to explore the diversity of life found within, and discover the many habitats in our Monterey Bay Sanctuary!
