The perfect break from those long hot August days, come join us for Splash Down Camp! Nearly all activities have a water based theme, spend your afternoons cooling off in the pool or take the opportunity to cruise around the lake or just simply sit off the dock with a fishing pole enjoying the friendship of fellow campers, while swapping fish stories. EXPLORERS DAY CAMP-Adventurers and Trailblazers - Germantown Friends School
The Explorers Day Camp offers five weeks of old-fashioned summertime fun, designed to develop campers curiosity and creativity through weekly theme-oriented sessions. Each week, Explorers will participate amazing activities designed by GFSs own LS art teacher Heather Chu Marvill and ASP Art Coordinator, Joli Harnish. In addition, campers will enjoy science, cooking, nature, and sports-related activities. The GFS campus will serve as the primary location for exploration and skill-building. Half-day field trips to nearby cultural destinations provide opportunities for hands-on learning and discovery. Campers will build confidence, forge new friendships, and grow through new experiences, all within a safe and fun-focused environment. Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club during weeks #1, #2, and #3 will add to the summertime fun and plans are in the works to include swimming for weeks #4 and #5 as well! Diving Camp Session 4 - Aquatic Center
We will be offering diving class to ages 6 to 18 years of age. The only requirement is that you are able to swim 25-yards of the pool and tread water for 1 minute in water over their heads. Basic diving skills and safety will be taught from the side of the pool and on two 1 - meter boards. Each child will progress at their own rate, beginning with essential techniques, while working on strength, flexibility and mechanics. More advanced students, when ready, will work on dives in all five categories: forward, back, reverse, inward and twist. Coach Ball & Coach Frates, Calvertons Lacrosse Coaches will share their years of experience with all. Open to beginners, intermediate and experienced players, this camp features three divisions: Youth, Middle School and High School ages. When placing campers, age and physical development will be considered so every player can have a positive experience. Campers will learn individual skills, such as shooting, passing, dodging, and defense, as well as team concepts such as fast breaks, defensive schemes and offensive schemes. The Calverton School has been the breeding group of more than 40 college lacrosse players over the last few years.
