The beauty of yoga is self discovery. The best time for that is now! Introducing a new Teen Yoga Camp at Essential Hot Yoga Glennwood location. It is often said by yoga students, "I wish I would have found yoga much younger". Yoga gently opens up the body and the mind for greater self love and compassion. The teen years can be very confusing with many physical changes resulting in emotional and mental stress. The connection of body and mind through the practice of yoga has been shown to benefit children greatly and provide a path for self regulation as they transition into young adults. Each day, campers will use fascinating and challenging LEGO® components to create dynamic vehicles, inventions, machines and more. In addition, the day includes LEGO® Star Wars themed models, video games, group games, challenges and more. Middle School "Budding Stars" Tennis Camp - The Prairie School
A limited number of students who love the game and are willing to work will be enrolled in this class. Students must be entering grades 5 through 8 unless approved by an instructor. Half of the class is instruction and drills, and the other half is supervised play. Again this year, we are excited to offer supervised match-play on Friday mornings, included in the weekly class fee! -- All classes are held on the Prairie School tennis courts, and class sizes are limited. The primary instructor for tennis is Nich Schafer. Private lessons are also available. This camp will focus on encouraging middle and early high school aged athletes to develop their basketball skills for all level players. Focusing on the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting, agility, positional and competition to nurture the total athlete. Coach Soemer has been coaching youth sports for 21 years. During this time he has coached basketball and soccer at various levels. He has also taught physical education for the past 14 years. Great Outdoors - EcoAdventures
Great Outdoors June 27th-July 1st 9am – 4pm (Ages 5 – 11) Monday – Friday Its back to nature in this camp and we mean literally! If it has to do with nature and the great outdoors we are all over it! These days kids seem to be losing touch with nature, so in this camp we are going to bring them back to the wild side. Kids will leave civilization behind as we head out into the great unknown to learn all about nature and surviving the outdoors. Campers will get the ins and outs of navigating trails, compass use, telling time by the sun, identify animal tracks, interact daily with animals, make fossils, build a drift shelter, survival skills, make Native American crafts, outdoor cooking (more than just smores) and so much more. By the end of camp you might not get your kid to come back into the house! Pint sized survivalist fun is on order for this camp on the Wild Side!
