D.C. Uniteds Spring Break camps provide participants aged 5 – 16 to experience an exciting soccer environment consisting of modern camp exercises, high-level skills demonstrations, and small-sided competitions. Campers will be exposed to a different set of technical and tactical focuses each day of camp. Coaches will work with players to develop their technical ability as well as discover a better understanding of the game in a fun and energetic environment. All participants will receive an official D.C. United camp ball, an official camp t-shirt, a ticket voucher to a D.C. Mountain Biking Camp - Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission
Trying to find something new and challenging for your child this summer? This week long Mountain biking camp will offer kids a great opportunity to explore the great outdoors and challenge themselves while learning fun, new cycling skills that they can use for years to come. We will explore great trails in and around the eastern panhandle, where the kids will learn how to climb, descend, and maneuver on rough and technical terrain. This sport is not only physical but fun too. Campers will need to provide an appropriate bike*, helmet, and wear appropriate clothes and footwear. Campers will also need to bring a bag lunch and plenty of water. On Friday, June 17th, there will be a bike check from 5-7pm at the Jefferson County Community Center for those enrolled in camp to make sure their bike and equipment are safe for camp. Children will take Jefferson County School buses to a different location each day during the week. Locations will include, Poorhouse Farm, Cacapon State Park, Greenbrier State Park and FLOC. Youth Learn to Row Camp - Water Sports Center
Learn to row this summer! Participants learn proper rowing technique, whole body conditioning and water safety while making new friends and enjoying a new and fun activity. Youth who particpate during the summer get a head start on team rowing if they choose to row during the school year. All camps are two weeks and there is no limit to the number of sessions a participant can sign up for. Eligibility - anyone who has never rowed prior to summer 2016, ages 13-18 and entering 8th - 12th grade in fall 2016. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOCR is open to student athletes, ages 13-18 (8th-12th grade), regardless of experience. Practice is daily after school, Monday through Friday, 3:45-6:15p, and Saturday mornings 7:30-10:00a. LOCR offers a Fall racing season, Winter training season, Spring racing season, plus options row during the summer months. Rowers new to the sport are considered Novice and after their first year advance to Varsity. Through a partnership with the local high schools, Varsity athletes have an opportunity to letter just as they would in a sport offered through their school. Boys Sports Camp with Coach Tom Myran - Germantown Friends School
The focus of Boys Sports Camp is on learning and competing in team sports, including basketball, soccer, baseball, flag football, floor hockey, and volleyball. In addition, campers also will take part in a variety of traditional games such as dodge and whiffle ball as well as individual sports such as tennis, wrestling, and track and field. Team-building, self-awareness and interpersonal skills will also be a focus. Our passionate and professional coaching team under the leadership of GFS Boys Varsity Track Coach Tom Myran will help participants become more skillful and confident athletes. Even more importantly, campers will have a terrific time making new friends and bonding with their upper school athlete-counselors whose job it is to reinforce the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and doing ones best on a daily basis.
