Piedmont Springs Youth Camp - Piedmont, AL
The North Alabama Congregational Holiness Church Christian Education Department would like to announce our 2015 Youth Camp. This event will be June 21st thru June 25th, our theme this year is Camp Discovery "Jesus at work through us". The early registration will be at our Giant Youth Rally, June 6th, 2015, this year the fee will be $65 on this day and $70 if you wait until the day of, so register early and save $5.00. Our speaker will be Reverend Jason Lee, a former camper and a outstanding minister for both the young and the young at heart. BSDK Sum camp wk 9 Full DAY CAMPER - Baseball Stadium at Devon and Kedzie
LPBA is pleased to announce that we have added a third baseball camp to our summer camp program. This exciting new venue will feature two fields at the former Thillens Stadium, now Baseball Stadium at Devon and Kedzie BSDKS two fields will allow us to divide the campers by age and skill level. We will use field #1 for boys and girls ages 5-7 and field #2 for boys and girls ages 8-13. The camp experience includes a daily exercise and agility training routine followed by instructive drills including base running, pitching, defense, bunting, outfield play, infield play, batting practice and other hitting drills. Camps will be held at BSDK 6404 N. Kedzie and will be conducted by LPBAs professional staff. Guest MLB instructors, past and present major league players, coaches and scouts will be on hand throughout the summer to conduct all-inclusive camp sessions. Camper to coach ratio is 7:1. LPBAs summer camp programs run Monday-Thursday from June 8 though August 28, 2015: Half day sessions from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – $175 per week Full day sessions from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – $250 per week Camp registration is on a weekly basis. READING ENRICHMENT: June - Dunavant Upper School
This non-credit review course is designed for rising seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. Successfully completing the course (and passing the summer reading quizzes and tests on any book studied in the class) will satisfy the summer reading requirement for students enrolling at MUS for the 2016-17 school year. Two Thumbs Up! - Ethical Culture
Watch great movies and learn about critiquing films. Develop a sense for recognizing the thematic (the directors goal of the film), dramatic (storytelling elements) and stylistic aspects (genre) of a movie. Besides having fun at the movies and eating popcorn each week with your friends, you can share your insights and newly found skills of thoughtfully critiquing a film. Well usually take two after school sessions to watch one movie. Each Monday well watch half of a film and follow with a brief discussion, which includes identifying key characteristics and sharing what we thought worked well or not.
