Fall Teen Adventure Weekend - West Branch, MI
Canoe trip on the Au Sable River with overnight lodging at YMCA Camp Timbers. Co-ed, ages 13-17. Join YMCA Camp Timbers staff for a TEEN ADVENTURE WEEKEND canoeing the Au Sable River! The weekend begins with a Friday night stay at Camp Timbers before launching on the Au Sable River Saturday morning. After spending Saturday canoeing the river, participants return to Camp Timbers in the evening to enjoy S’mores around a campfire. The weekend ends with debriefing, unpacking, and a sampling of adventure activities at camp on Sunday. Cost is $75 for Y members and $90 for non-members and includes: meals, lodging, use of canoeing gear, transportation between Camp Timbers and the Au Sable River, and programming. 3D Printing and Modeling - Building A
In this camp from Youth Digital, campers learn key modeling concepts as they design their 3D model in preparation for real 3D printing. At the end of camp, kids will walk away with a completed 3D model that is ready for 3D printing! Theyll also be able to access the online version of the course after camp, including video tutorials, interactive quizzes, and new challenges. Campers will learn the basics of 3D modeling as they prepare to have their creations printed using groundbreaking 3D printing technology. During camp, kids master 3D modeling and design skills including how to sculpt, texture, arrange, and render their 3D creation in preparation for 3D printing. Debate Camp 2.0 (Grades 6 - 9) Debate Camp 2.0 is limited to participants who have already completed a week of Debate Camp in the summer of 2015, or who are registered for a week of Debate Camp for summer 2016 (If plan on registering for both programs at the same time you must register in person). It will be a faster moving and more advanced program designed to sharpen debate and mock trial skills at a more competitive level. Less time will be spent on the acquisition of skill through mini-lessons and modeling and more time will be spent engaged in competitive debates, mock trials, and political campaigns. Since less time will be devoted to the direct teaching of the fundamental debate and persuasive communication techniques, campers will be engaged in more debates and mock trials throughout the week.
