LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Future Robot Creator - United Faith Christian Academy
Entry-level robotics and programming. Campers get a head start on simple robotics using LEGO® Education WeDo™ components and easy to use software. Our young creators will build models, attach sensors and motors, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. Counselors guide and encourage exploration and trial and error field-testing. Instead of simply snapping bricks together, campers are encouraged to think critically about how their robot design can be changed and to understand more complicated engineering techniques such as gear use, pulleys, and inclined planes. Robot models include a variety of animals, soccer players, amazing mechanisms, and adventure stories. When ready, campers move to advanced building and programming projects that include: a Racecar, Ferris wheel, and Carousel. As the week draws to a close, campers can utilize the skills they have learned to build an X-wing fighter or Marine helicopter. Teen North African Music, Dance and Culture Camp - Nampa, ID
Travel to Northern Africa and the Middle-East, without the motion sickness or expensive flight. Learn about the music, dance and culture of the area of the world where Africa meets the Orient. It's a whole new world of music and dance! If you only have a Western Music Education, you are missing out on over three fourths of the world's music! Students will attend from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, August 4th and 6th. Besides learning dance moves, students will make percussive instruments and learn to play several N. African Rhythms. Students will learn about the music and culture of this area of the world through music, dance, video, food and art. On Saturday, August 8th, students will have the opportunity to join 1 World Dance in a performance!

Explore robotics during this week-long camp designed for incoming 1st and 2nd graders. Campers will use LEGO WeDo technology to build mechanisms, learn correct troubleshooting procedures, and witness their hand-built creations come to life! Elementary Robotics will challenge campers with various engineering problems and develop their potential. Summer is the best time of year for fishing, but you need the knowledge of fish habits to help narrow down the best fishing areas by boat and from shore. Open to both experienced and new anglers. Learn the basics of a variety of styles of fishing including rod and reel trolling, bottom fishing, fly fishing, clamming and lobster fishing. Students will also learn about tying knots, baiting hooks, cleaning gear, and practicing fishing safety. Become more aware of local fisheries and fishing impacts. We practice catch and release only.
