Can We Interview the Staff?
Many summer camp staff are seasonal. However, there are usually a number of year-round staff who can answer parents’ questions. This is a chance to talk about how homesickness will be handled, emergency procedures, the daily schedule, dietary restrictions, and more. Interviews can happen via phone, email, or even Skype. Patience is important. Staff members’ time is usually limited during the winter and spring season.
Before going into this conversation, parents should make a list of questions. This ensures all necessary information about safety, program, and cost are touched upon. Camp staff should be able to explain how registration works...

Pre-Teen Camp will be coming up soon for students who just completed 3rd grade through students who just completed 5th grade. The deadline to sign up is February 26th with a deposit of $50. Start inviting your friends now!
Kid's Summer MMA Camp - Decatur, AL
The Camp will take place July 11-15 from 10am-1pm each day, and the cost is $100 per child and is intended for children ages 6-12. We will be fully staffed with experienced instructors ready to help your child have an incredible Martial Arts experience. Camp includes: -- 15 hours of training! -- Certificate of Completion! -- An opportunity to earn a Belt Stripe in our Martial Arts program! -- First month of Academy enrollment FREE (for new members)! -- A light lunch is included each day ATTIRE: Clean shorts and t-shirt or rashguard with finger and toe nails trimmed. Pants and tank tops will not be allowed. GOAL: To safely introduce new students to Martial Arts and the 10th Planet Decatur System of self-defense. Polish and expand the skills of students with previous experience. Improve conditioning, as well as listening skills. Empower and inspire participants to be assertive and confident and help prepare them for the new school year including how to deal with bullying, from preventing to properly engaging if necessary. This club meets on the second Saturday of each month and covers the fundementals of acting and audition techniques. Students will have the oppurtunity to master the use of their voice and body to create a character. Students will also be able to participate in "mock auditions" ( cold readings, prepared sides, movement, etc. ) to gain more experience for various audition expectations. Felted Bags and Purses - Artists Exchange
This 4 week workshop will focus on making bags and purses using a resist method of wet felting. For many, felt is a crafting material sold in squares made out of some mish-mosh of synthetic fibers. Felting is actually extremely natural and is one of the most ancient art forms in mankinds history. It is still a widely used method which can create anything from clothing to toys and even houses. In this class, students will learn the basic process of wet felting which creates wool fabric by layering raw wool fibers, adding warm soapy water and a little elbow grease. This is an inter-generational class. The felting process is simple but can be very versatile which makes it a great opportunity for parents and children to work together side by side.
