Lacrosse Camp for Girls - Germantown Friends School
The GFS Lacrosse Camp offers the ideal way for players of all levels to improve their individual skills, have fun, and meet new friends. This camp is designed for players who want to work on fundamental skill-building with a major emphasis on stick work, scoring, positional play, and game concepts. Newcomers are welcome! Coach Katie Bergstrom Mark is a former Division I lacrosse player and current Head Lacrosse Coach and Athletic Director at GFS. More than 45 of her players have gone on to play collegiate lacrosse at different schools, including MIT, Smith, Penn, Bard, Stanford, Wesleyan, Vermont, Davidson, Bowdoin and more. Our coaching staff consists of current varsity players and collegiate athletes who demonstrate and share first-hand knowledge of the skills they developed during their summers at GFS Camps! Our primary goal is to build confidence and deepen players passion for sports! Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club add to the summertime fun! Summer Sessions - Cycling - Road Camp - Killington Mountain School
The KMS Cycling Summer Road Camp is a great way to improve your cycling and learn a lot about the sport. Through a combination of training rides, training races, skills work, drills, gym work, demonstrations and discussions, you will become a better cyclist and, more importantly, learn how continue to improve long after the camp ends. This is not intended to be an easy camp with a lot of down time; rather, it is targeted toward 13 to 16 year-olds who are intrinsically motivated to take their road cycling (i.e. Road Race, Criterium, and Time Trial) to the next level. Expect to be on your bike most of the week! There will be bike fitting, guest appearances from local professional racers, a trip to a local training race, instruction on strength and conditioning (and the importance of rest/recovery), discussion of nutrition/hydration basics, long group rides where we work on peloton riding skills, clinics on cornering, sprinting, pedal stroke, bumping, and other skills, clinics on bike maintenance and set-up, lessons on how to prepare for races, training technology, race tactics, discussions on pathways to the Junior National Team and elite levels of cycling, and more. Maplewood Parks and Recreation is offering a fun sports camp. This exciting camp will introduce campers to different sports/activities each day and will teach them the basics with fun drills, games and activities from our experienced and energetic staff. This is a great way for kids to experience many different sports, keep them active, and allow them to have fun with others in a structured and organized camp, regardless of skill level or previous knowledge. Food trucks food craze! During this week we will discuss food trucks food, decorate aprons, chefs, hats, and make a fun menu of food truck treats! Your chef will prepare and bake things like cupcake pancakes, corndog muffins, star spangled strawberries, homemade mini pizzas, and confetti cake in a jar! We will provide tickets and invite the other students to come and taste some of our fun menu creations.
