Intergalactic Mission - Venice Lutheran School
Outer Space Adventure with Us and Learn Spanish. Enter the time machine once again and leave earthly worries behind because there is no time like the future to discover what awaits us in other galaxies. Its a strange world of changing realities and campers learn all about how to survive by using their senses. Campers transform into aliens with unique features and devices that help them thrive in outer realms of space. Campers play active & quiet games, create, sing songs, act, dance, cook and discover the joys of learning Spanish while playing sports too. Theme vocabulary includes colors, counting, verbs, nouns, adjectives to describe the power of our senses. Celebration Day Wednesday (participation optional) Campers express their alien spirit with their absurd alien ­inspired hairdo. During camp choice time campers find their alien ‘relatives according to hairstyle and create their unique alien group ‘Survival Guide. Notes: There may be options for arranging late pick up the same day. You will be notified of these options the week prior to camp start. Summer Youth Art Camp: Grade 5 Summer art camp is the perfect retreat for the young artist. A faculty of professional artists and art educators provide hands-on activities that expose students to a variety of artistic styles and art processes. Campers rotate by age group to different studio classes for drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Daily enrichment activities may include entertainment, movement/dance, presentations and games that explore different cultures and forms of art. Parents are asked to provide a daily lunch, snacks and beverage for their children. A reception and art exhibition is held on the last Friday of camp. Family and friends are invited to attend. *Register your child for the grade they will enter in Fall 2016. Chefology - United Faith Christian Academy
Does your camper enjoy watching Chopped or Iron Chef on T.V.? Chefology is a perfect adventure for any child who loves to eat and wants to learn to cook! Activities and cooking experiments allow aspiring chefs to explore the science behind cooking and try different foods. Chefs will prep ingredients, cook, bake, follow a recipe, discover changes in food properties and take home extras to share with their families when available. This is a course for beginning Chefs and will include a variety of DELICIOUS breakfast, lunch/dinner and dessert recipes using REAL foods. Recipes may vary based on location facilities available. Dancemakers (1st-3rd) - Head-Royce School
Instructor Kim Agnew is a multi-disciplined dancer, choreographer and dance educator teaching all over the greater Bay Area including, Head Royce, dance and music outreach with the San Francisco Ballet and 13 summers with Marin Ballet. As many students repeat dance in ASP, off campus or during the regular school day, they begin to have creative dance ideas of their own. In this class, Kim will guide the dancers in creating their own group choreography using the dance skills they bring to class as well as learning some new ones. New dancers have great ideas too and are more than welcome to join class. The dancers really have to work as a team, try each others ideas and see what their moves look like when someone else executes it.
