In this interdisciplinary class, students will look at and analyze the work of Edgar Degas. Students will experiment with similar postures, movements and phrases in relation to Degas work. This is a great opportunity for students to re-interpret the artwork through movement. No dance experience required. Students should wear comfortable clothing and socks. Acting and Auditioning Studio Workshop - The Georgetown Palace Theatre
This 3 week workshop puts an in depth focus on the skills needed to succeed in theatre and performance. Working with professional performers, directors, and teaching artists, students will receive instruction in Acting, Vocals, and Dance including: -script analysis -improvisation -monologue technique -physicality -breaking down lyrics -finding the story of the song -basics of a professional musical theatre audition -choosing songs that showcase YOU -finding a 16-bar cut -working with an accompanist -stretching and warm up -basics of musical theatre dance -moving like a dancer -dance auditions (how to make it out alive) The workshop culminates in a feedback audition to introduce you to local theatre professionals on Friday night as well as a student designed performance of skills on Saturday morning. Summer Recreation Camp - (Week 5) Week 5: Stratham Rec?s Got Talent Ready, set, action! We are excited for a fun week at camp filled with a variety of activities that will showcase our talents. We will be dancing, acting, and more! To celebrate the end of camp and share our many talents, we will hike to Stratham Hill Park for our annual camp talent show on Friday. All families are invited to attend! Each day is designed a little different to offer campers with daily choices, physical exercise, and craft activities to ignite creativity, social and group development, nature and each week includes three special activities/events. Thursday the campers will take a trip to a New Hampshire State Park and Friday has its own theme and is definitely going to be two days campers do not want to miss!Please have your child bring sunscreen, water bottles (at least 32 ozs.), 2 snacks and a lunch.
