Architectural Adventures combines science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in a uniquely fun and challenging way valuable for young people to enjoy, that allows hands-on learning experiences. Children will be inspired by building upon their natural curiosity to learn about different aspects of modern architecture. For example, a ‘green engineering unit allows students to create, test, and refine architectural designs involving the use of alternative energy and environmental awareness. Students will learn how to build efficient wind powered machines and discover how these machines can help reduce fuel consumption. Throughout the week, students will apply basic engineering design concepts to create, test, and refine a variety of machines and mechanical systems, including cars, planes, and cranes. Students will also learn the basics of fluid dynamics while constructing roller coasters and other vehicles, culminating in the construction of an incredibly fast air powered dragster that students get to keep at the end of the course. Students will also compete in groups to build the highest structure! Returning to Teen Camp - undefined, CA
In the summer of 2014, I did something I never really thought I was called to do: work with TEENS. Being 21 at the time, I still considered myself one. Me? Being paired up with a 14-year old girl? Confronting normal teen issues paired with the difficulty that comes hand in hand while being in the foster system? Definitely a challenge. Not just zip-ling fun and games. (Also, I came home with crutches that year. FROM TRIPPING IN THE CAFETERIA. Hangry?) However, seeing how camp is something these kids/teens look forward to every year and how a weekend in the woods reminds them they are loved and adored is invaluable. Being with older and wiser counselors also inspired me because seeing the way they love unconditionally inspires me to not be selfish with my time and personal ambitions. These kids, this camp. It means something. A safe place with the ability to change lives long term. I'm proud to say that I'm returning to Teen Camp this year and it would be amazing to share the stories from last time with you (when I get a blog post up.) Youth Advanced Academy Female - University of Tulsa
This is an intensive customized program for competitive girls 13 and younger. Instruction will focus on performing techniques with less time and space, and making tactical decisions at a higher speed. Each day, players receive top flight instruction from the nationally ranked and recognized University of Tulsa Mens and Womens Coaches as well as other top Collegiate, Club and High School coaches and players. Registration will be Sunday from 1-3 and pick up will be Thursday at 11:30 am. The Princeton Field Hockey coaching staff has designed the Elite Camp for the athlete and the team who have aspirations to take their game to the next level. We encourage you to make this your high school team camp. In the months leading up to the camp, the Princeton coaching staff will work with your HS coach to ensure we are working toward your team goals for the upcoming season. We will address tactical areas, individual skill development and team direction. For the camper coming to camp as an individual, we will place you on a team with other athletes of a similar experience level. Individual skill will be developed during the morning sessions, while afternoon and evening sessions will be devoted to team tactics and team building. Sessions will be held on Bedford Field, the world class water-astroturf home of the 2012 National Champion Princeton Tigers, as well as the field turfs at 1952 Stadium and Plummer Field at Roberts Stadium. Athletes will have the opportunity to be coached by a mix of Division I college coaches and top collegiate players. You will receive high level instruction at EVERY skill or small game station. Shine your tiaras, stretch your tiptoes and dust off your tutus. Spend the week learning dances and stories about your favorite Princesses! Crafts will be made each day and our week will end with a Princess Tea Party (with all the dancers dressed as their favorite princess or prince, of course!) and an informal showing of our Princess Dance for friends and family! Princes are welcome too! Materials: A separate fee of $10 is payable to the instructor on the first day of camp for arts & craft materials. This weeks theme "End of Summer / Talent Show" Parents, is your child ready to have fun and make new friends this summer? If yes, then bring your child to the coolest hot spot in town. The Lacey Park Day Camp is full of fun activities for children grades K thru 6th. This is an outdoor recreation camp. Campers will learn about the benefits of being physically active; as well as, having a healthy lifestyle in the outdoors. Each week campers will engage in various group games, art projects, participate in a talent show and weekly field trips to the Hanford Teen Center, Hanford Plunge and the local Library. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. A weekly food menu will be provided at request. If your child has a particular taste, you may consider bringing a sack lunch for your child. Community Boating Center of New Bedfords mission is to "Teach positive life values to youth through boating." This summer we are working even more in incorporate US Sailings REACH program into our summer programs. The REACH program works to teach children science, technology, engineering and math in fun and innovative ways. It helps kids learn STEM subjects while engaging in fun land and water based activities. Our programs also follow the philosophy of safety, fun and learning in that order. This summer Community Boating has Chosen to assign students to their classes.
