Monterey Junior Lifeguards 2016 - Monterey State Beach
The Monterey Junior Lifeguard Program is a 4-week educational and recreational summer program for children between the ages of 9 and 16. The kids are exposed to a carefully planned schedule of lectures and field trips, balanced with physical conditioning and ocean recreation activities. This unique aquatic class is taught by professional Ocean Lifeguards and several guest lecturers. There are 2 four-week sessions each summer at Monterey State Beach. During this week of camp we will celebrate various gardens as we take your young artist out into the beautiful Rose Garden, Sunken Garden, and Rain Gardens at the Hermitage. Campers will do observational drawings, landscape paintings and create their very own ‘magical garden. Through nature walks they will discover garden sculptures and learn about patterns in the natural world. This year campers will also have a special opportunity to contribute to the Hermitages very own vegetable garden! Allow your artist to discover magic in the Hermitage Gardens! By attending this camp, students will learn the basics of congressional debate and parliamentary procedure. Through a blend of games, discussions, outdoor activities, and practice sessions, they will hone analytical skills, impromptu responses, and speaking abilities. Weekly High School Pitching Camp 2 - Kennesaw State University (Stillwell Stadium)
The Owls Baseball Camp Staff is happy to announce a weekly pitching camp this Fall/Winter. This camp will be ran exclusively by Assistant Coach Trey Fowler and is open to any high school age player looking to take his Pitching to the next level. The 4 week program will be structured to ensure that each player learns more about the most important aspects of pitching including visual focus, mechanical efficiency, and how to attack/read hitters. A throwing program will be implemented to increase arm speed and strength along with drills for efficiency, bullpens, and video analysis to ensure that each player exits the 4 week program a better and more confident pitcher. All sessions will be limited to a max of 4 players in order to assure each receives the individual attention and reps to reach the goals of the program. The Dates for the Camp include Sept 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th.
