Kid’s Camp at Polaris is designed for students ages 6-12 and offers a full or half day experience, Monday through Friday. Camp is a great way for kid’s to have fun while sampling all that Polaris Dance Theatre has to offer. Baseball: The Milwaukee Brewers Academy - Patriots Hall
This is the official youth baseball/softball camp of the Milwaukee Brewers. In addition to 30 hours of professional-grade instruction, each camper will receive a full uniform, four tickets to a Brewers game, and a VIP Miller Park experience that will include meeting a current player. He/she will also participate in the Brewers Skills Competition with the top scorers competing on Champions Day at Miller Park. Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-14 and runs M-F from 9am to 3pm. 2016 will be the fourth year of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Academy. The Academy has earned the reputation as one of the finest baseball/softball camps in America. There is a family and friends discount available. This camp will focus on fundamentals and strengthening the skills of young wind and brass players as well as performance. Students will work on two instruments their "major" instrument that they have been playing, and a "minor" wind or brass instrument of their choosing. Secondary instruments will be provided. The day will start with sectionals and technical fundamentals, after a snack and time playing musical Jeopardy and other games, campers will wrap up playing in the full ensemble. Six months playing experience required. Some 4th graders may be eligible to enroll with director approval. This camp takes place at 570 Central Avenue in New Providence. A camp to promote literacy and encourage imagination Rising 1 and 2 July 11-15 Kim Fansler In this camp reading, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, art, cooking and drama will all be taught using various versions of classic fairy tales. We will give the children the opportunity to build the houses the three little pigs built. They will make the gingerbread houses that Hansel and Gretel found in the woods. They will plant the magic beans that Jack used to grow the magical beanstalk. They will dress up as characters and act out favorite scenes. They will get to paint and decorate enchanted castles. Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game.
