Participants will improve on basic skills and knowledge of the game. The concepts of cooperation and teamwork, along with a chance to have fun, will be the main goals of the week. Participants need their own stick, mouth guard, shin guards and goggle s. Please pack a peanut free bag lunch water bottle and swim gear daily. Group cools off at Reynolds Pool at the end of the camp day. Awakening Teen Camp seeks to equip teens ages 12–18 with Bible-based teaching to live a lifestyle of prayer, worship, and wholehearted love for Jesus. Teens are housed at our local Camp and Training Center, as well as our local YWAM base. Meals are provided through our camp kitchen, and transportation is provided by Awakening Teen Camp. Our group leaders excitedly work to equip teens to live lives of holiness while devoting their summers to pouring into the next generation and make lifelong memories. Days at Awakening Teen Camp are full of high-energy games and activities, bible classes, practical training, small group time, and powerful evening services. We want teens to come grow in the knowledge of God and be awakened to the joy of impacting this generation with His power, and have a ton of fun!

Showtunes: Sing and Dance (August 15) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
One of the most difficult aspects of musical theatre is being able to sing and dance at the same time. This camp will help to develop this ability. Working hard to prepare a selection of show tunes for a live performance will give the campers quality experience and better prepare them to participate in musicals at school and in the community. Campers will perform in large and small groups while also allowing each child to take the spotlight with a singing or dance solo within the group numbers. This is an opportunity for your child to build a talent that many young performers struggle with. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. Boating: Basic Sailing Camp - Lake Merritt Boating Center
Piedmont Recreation is proud to partner with the City of Oakland Lake Merritt Boating Center. Piedmont Recreation offers transportation to and from these camps. The Basic Sailing Camp requires a swim evaluation that can be arranged through the Piedmont Community Pool at (510) 655-5163. SWIM EVALUATION IS REQUIRED. This entry level sailing class will definitely give kids a chance to get their "sea legs". The campers start off learning the parts of the sailboat and by weeks end theyll understand wind direction as it relates to propelling, and more importantly, controlling their sailboat. Games and drills on the water help to teach these basic skills. No experience is needed. If your child does not have a swim evaluation verification on file, a swim evaluation will have to be completed before the first day of camp. Farm Camp is a Cascade Mountain School day program that introduces younger students to the fun and excitement of learning where our food comes from. Come explore a variety of farm activities in Trout Lake, WA. Play in the gardens. Tour a local organic dairy. Learn about animal care. Feed the chickens and cook a meal with farm fresh eggs. Parents are also welcome to join in on these amazing hands-on activities. Day camps for ages 9-12 will be held Monday through Thursday from 1-4 pm each day. There will be optional transportation from Hood River, OR and Bingen, WA for an additional fee. The fee is $12.50/day/student for transport. 503-358-1949
