We all know that the YMCA has been around for years. But instead of a outdated program, the summer day camp was fun and fresh. Between the swimming, the sports and the crafts our kids were certainly kept busy. Not once did we hear, "I'm bored!" That's a huge change of pace for them. Join us for the 6th annual Camp Sol Summer Program. This camp is designed for participants that have intellectural disabilities with the ability to participate in a 5:1 camper to staff ratio. Activities will include arts, crafts, games, sport, cooking and special guests. Are you looking for a chance to strengthen and reinforce math skills learned during the school year? Would you like to start the next school year at the top of your game? If so, this camp is for you! Attendees will re-visit and review grade- level skills in this fun interactive camp! We will play math games, solve mathematical puzzles, and much more--all while reinforcing key math concepts! Patty Soemer holds a Masters degree in education from Liberty University and has taught various subjects to a variety of ages for the past 21 years. Campers will develop their hitting, bunting, throwing, catching, and base-running skills. Camp will also incorporate activities and game situations to emphasize technical/mental aspects. Prizes and awards will be presented daily. Staff: Millstone River teachers Michael Jones, Evan Malakates as well as WW-P HS North Alumni baseball players Pre and post camp care is available at Millstone River school through WWP Community Education for an additional fee on their website. Campers must provide their own glove. Giant City, Pomona Natural Bridge and Cave-in-Rock are just some of the places we will visit during this week. We will also sneak in a trip to the Chocolate Factory and Dixon Springs State Park. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure your child (grade 1-6) is a part of this awesome summer. Guided by our American Red Cross Certified Staff, this summer promises to be one adventure after the other. Campers should bring a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen and bug spray, a water bottle and lunch everyday. Afternoon snack will be provided. Children should wear clothes that can get dirty and comfortable shoes that they can wear while running and hiking. Camp will run from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Before and after care is available for an additional fee. A weekly newsletter will give parents and campers an idea of what to expect each week. Join us for a summer of adventure, friendship and fun!
