A Safe and Fun Place
Nowadays you're always cautious when it comes to placing your kids in the care of other adults. Thankfully there is Bishop Stoney Camp. One visit was all it took to put my mind at ease. I knew letting our boys go there for soccer camp was a good call. The counselors took good care of them making sure they didn't get into trouble and stayed focus on having wholesome fun. Time to get away and unplug from the hectic pace of life. This retreat is for youth in 8th grade through 12th grade. Fee is $100. For the first 10 to sign up, receive a $25 discount making it just $75 for a fun faith filled weekend! Camp TImber-lee is a wonderful facility with 600 acres of outdoor space, a toboggan hill and much more. A special band and speaker will engage our time of preparation for Holy week and Easter. The Torrance-South Bay Y and Unearthed Travel are hosting a life-changing journey to Costa Rica for teens ages 14-17 next summer, July 2017! Students will travel as a team and will participate in: hands-on community or conservation project, challenging and breathtaking trek through the rainforest or up the tops of volcanoes, and exploration of the amazing sites and action packed activities of Costa Rica. Landscapes in Fabric - Bonnie Langenfeld
Learn to turn your favorite photos into artful fabric landscapes. In this class you will create a realistic fabric landscape by choosing appropriate fabrics and making free-motion machine stitches. You will be taught how to make patterns for your picture, learn many artistic points, learn how to stitch picture details, receive a reference booklet and plenty of individual help. After taking this class you will have a completed, or nearly completed fabric landscape! Students must bring their own sewing machine (for the second and third sessions) and have a basic ability to use the free-motion mode. Be sure your machine is in great working condition. No painting is involved, but you will be an artist with just fabric and thread!
