This camp is an all-encompassing program specifically designed for the more serious soccer player. The focus here will be to challenge each individual to transfer what they have learned in the morning skill sessions and the afternoon small group tactics into the competitive full-field evening games. You will play on the same fields that the University of Maryland Mens Soccer Team utilizes. Join us for yoga and fitness fun! This camp includes yoga, movement, music, crafts, group games, projects and story activities. Each day will have its own fun theme and encourage your childs creativity. Yoga brings out the best in kids and teaches positive lessons. Colleen Evon, founder of Fun Sun Kids Yoga and former preschool teacher, is a certified yoga instructor. LUNCH: Science in the City campers must bring their own peanut-free bag lunches and drinks each day. Refrigerated facilities are not provided. An insulated lunch box with an ice pack is recommended. This session will allow kids to convert their favorite stories into keepsake crafts using the process of upcycling. This experience will teach the importance of repurposing through creativity while encouraging conversations about the value and importance of literature in our lives. Participants will create several items from old books chosen for this purpose. While creating these items, we will discuss their favorite stories, the most fascinating characters, and why books and upcycling are important. *Participants will need to bring 3 hardback books of their choice; books that are in disrepair or those which would otherwise be recycled are recommended. Favorite childrens books are especially useful. Ms. Suzanne Russell earned her M.S. in Library Science from Indiana University. She is the subject area librarian for Brebeufs Religious Studies and Science departments. She is a former Girl Scout leader; enjoys books, cooking, baking; and loves all things outdoors.
